The "starting time" vote is currently indicating that the "GRcade plays" may not start for six weeks :(. Hit the pause button, Ad!

I'm so fickle with what I fancy playing that I'll probably not be keen when this kicks off :fp:

It'll also be starting right in the middle of E3 which means that it'll be easy for the thread to drop off the front page and out of sight.

Or Banjo 3 gets announced and then more people would want to join.

Well... GRcadians have voted... and it seems that the most popular choice is to wait until 17 June :|.

I should have been a dictator rather than undertake all this democratic pony! I suspect that many folk will be focusing their attention on The Witcher III (19 May), Splatoon (29 May), Elder Scrolls Online (9 June) and Batman (23 June). I'll leave this until just prior to 17 June and then re-check on the appetite at the time :-).

An APB is out on SEP... he is willfully acting outside of the system and living life by his own rules. He's uncontrollable.... he's dangerous... and he's enjoying Banjo-Kazooie RIGHT NOW :datass:.

I got most of the way through the game recently and then hit rusty bucket bay :dread:

Killed my desire to play any further.

Rusty Bucket Bay isn't gooseberry fool. But it is hard. If you've got enough jigsaw pieces and musical notes from the other worlds, you should be able to scrape through with only a few items obtained from RBB and go straight for Click Clock Wood... which is a glorious level.

I've got 100% on all the levels before that. It's just the aesthetic I don't like, has a horrible tomb raider 2 sunken ship feeling.

Funny enough it was that level that killed the game stone dead for me when I was playing it on the N64. It was so hard.

But for some reason, I found it less challenging on the 360 for some reason and managed to finish the entire game for the first time. I guess it has to do with the music notes... has the game changed the way you keep those notes or something?

Yes. On the N64, the notes reset every time you enter the world, and your highest score is the one that counts towards your overall total. So if you get thirty notes on your first playthrough, and then die, return to the level and get another (but different) forty notes, then the score you have recorded for that world is 40 notes.

On the 360 version, once you collect a note, it's gone from the world forever, permanently added to your count. So using the same example as above with the two separate playthroughs, your score for that world would be 70 notes. So it's a cumulative total on the 360, as opposed to a high score on the 64.

The 360 way is easier, but the '64 approach is 'purer'. Personally I prefer the '64 way, simply because even long after you've beaten the game, you can return to a level and try and collect all 100 notes anytime. Whereas on the 360 the worlds seem empty and there's no incentive to revisit, other than to just play around.
