Soooo I was looking to upgrade my 12 pro to a 15 pro but the shocking number of drop tests on the back glass breaking is a bit worrying. I mean I hardly drop my phone and always have a case so would it be so much of an issue?

the Studio Display is out of budget at nearly £1700, does anyone have an idea for a more budget friendly monitor option (circa £400 ish)?

This is what I'm considering too. Really disappointed they haven't done a larger-screened new-style iMac yet, and I really need to replace mine (24", 16 years old!). Studio Display is totally daft, and unnecessarily high-spec for me, so a good monitor (27" maybe) with a Mac Mini would be a great solution. But I have no idea about monitors.

I wouldn't have thought it would be a issue, I have had iPhones since the 3GS and not once have I damaged one at all, I use a case for the back and sides and a screen protector (a spigen one, you can't tell its on unlike some others that ruin the look)

This one seems to break easily, I have never broken a phone and always have a case but for the first time I am thinking of getting apple care.

Seems to be reports of overheating to the point that it's hard to hold. Sure Apple will come out and say something shortly. Not sure I want to get the 14 as I would like to move to USBc

I'm completely off the pace with phones nowdays, but... if the quality has gone down and there are issues, is paying out more for "Care" the right path? Could switching to a different brand be feasible?

My backup phone is android, i've tried to get on with it but much prefer IOS. Personal choice obviously.

I am happy to wait and watch and see how crackgate unfolds. I have the money but I am in no rush to have one yet.

Found a decent MSI one which I thought fulfilled all the criteria (27", at least 75Hz, white, display port, decent styling), showed it to my sister and her immediate response was "does it have a webcam?"

I can find some with webcams but they're all either vastly overpriced or just look gooseberry fool.

Oh god, lack of webcam is one of the better reasons not to buy Apple. But I guess if she wants one... No idea what monitors have them built in, though.

I've been looking through these:
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/mac-mini

Weirdly the lower-mid-range option is the same price as the budget choice.

That rtings article was the first thing I looked at when I started looking for a monitor.

A separate webcam is definitely the best option imo.

Collect my iPhone 15 today from Apple. I nearly bought it from Giff Gaff but they wanted £60 more for the phone and would give me £60 less for my phone so worked out £120 more expensive than buying it from Apple!

Is anybody else having issues with WhatsApp notifications?

Messages are coming through, but I have to go into the app to see them, the notifications aren't working at all.

I've tried reinstalling the app, checked for updates, turned notifications off and then back on etc but nothing seems to fix it.

Under Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp, do you have Banners enabled or disabled? If disabled, try enabling them.

Enabled.

I've tried disabling and then re-enabling but it doesn't fix the issue.

Some big monthly price rises from Apple:

AppleTV+: £8.99
Apple Arcade: £6.99
Apple News+: £12.99
Apple One: £18.95 (Single), £24.95 (Family)

A few promotions are running on AppleTV+, however. Order anything from Curry's between 1st & 28th November and you'll get 5 months free (new and returning customers), if you've got Sky TV then you can nab 6 months free on their VIP app, and if you're a Barclays customer (and maybe even if you're not - worth a try!) you can also get 5 months free: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/free-5 ... ys-4211583

May also work for News+ and Arcade: https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/51260160

Rumours of new iMacs on the way - with M3, but still only 24".
