What's the best SIM only plan for Data at the moment? Texts are always useful but I've literally made about an hour of phonecalls in the past six years :| 3 have bumped my monthly fee up to like 35 quid or something ridiculous so it's about time to get shot of that.

There's that one I mentioned on Vodafone but it's gone up to £22.20.

Depends on how much data you normally use, I guess. I've got 4GB for £15 from Three but that's double what my previous contract offered and I never even used the allowance on that. I'm normally either at work or at home so am usually on wifi, such is the life of a hermit.

Look for the cheapest sim with most data with whichever network. Then phone your current network and get them to at least match the deal. I am currently getting 10gb + some minutes and texts from Vodafone for £10ish - only because I got them to match a three offer.

I haven't reset my data counter in a while, so my iPhone is telling me I've used 276GB of data since October 2013, which comes out to about 7.5GB a month. I was expecting a lot higher, tbf. At least that gives me an idea of where I can look for plans that *aren't* unlimited...

Will check the Vodafone one out, thanks Maf  GiffGaff seem to do one for £20, too. Wonder what the catch is.

I think you still get 12 months of Spotify Premium or Now TV free with that vodafone contract too so it's a pretty good deal.

I've got a bit of a dilemma with my next MacBook - my Air is now over 5 years old and it's pretty much time for an upgrade. I dont have much in the way of complaints so I'm brand loyal, the computer itself is still running more or less fine etc. I mainly use it as a nice Facebook machine but I have one eye on gaming (I know). So I was intending to get the 2015 Pro and stick in 16GB of RAM and the i7 processor, but thanks to the price hike this would now cost me an eye watering £1530 - after NUS discount.

I'm not a huge fan of the new model - it's a step backwards in many ways (reduced battery, the ports, magsafe, etc) the keyboard in stores feels totally shite, I've got no need for a touch bar, the 'entry' model seems underpowered, never mind the price (my initial budget was around £1200) so it leaves me in a bit of a pickle.

Anyone got any views or suggestions? I'm keeping the Air so for travel etc I would probably still use that; a Pro would mainly come in as a house laptop with a nicer display and more under the hood. As it stands I'm sort of thinking I dont need one at all, but....

Yeah - factoring in the entertainment pack, it's still one of the most competitive deals out there. Plus significantly improved network coverage, which matches EE overall as the best in UK. http://www.p3-group.com/en/wp-content/u ... K-2016.pdf

It might be worth holding off for Black Friday and Christmas Sales though (across all OpCos) because you can bet things will get pretty toasty out there.

Macs used to be difficult to justify before, now it's almost impossible after the price hike. Im stupid enough to be considering getting a surface book and even I can't justify a Mac, and I've had one in the past.

Look for a refurbished MacBook rather than a new one.

Yeah, I think this is now the way to go.

I think the new Pros are a huge step backwards - mainly because of the lack of ports (I use HDMI and USB the whole time), and the magsafe power port, which is genius. Having to buy a dongle is crazy.

My 2012 15" Pro is still going strong...I bought it at the time for £2,000 and specced it up to 16GB and 512GB memory, so hopefully it will last me another 4 years at least.

They must read THE BOARD.

I can't wait for their £5 discounts off a Mac. :datass:

They could just reduce their prices to the pre-referendum level. They’d look like big discounts, while actually not really costing Apple anything.

Didn't realise the AirPods aren't even out yet, after all that fuss. I was really wanting a pair of those Beats X headphones that were meant to be out already but they still don't have a proper release date, cynic in me thinks that they're being held back until after the AirPods area out.

Quite tempted to get the new Solo 3 ones for Christmas instead but I dunno, they don't sound like a huge upgrade over the previous version.

Got the Beats Solo 3 Wireless headphones, they're brilliant. Hold the power button and they're paired with your device and every other one linked to your iCloud account.Sound quality is good too, obviously.
