I guess the XR could be my next phone, if I decide I want to upgrade.

Aren’t the new iPad announcements usually done in November?

Don't know, I've not kept up to date with them. But the last Pro was released June last year. My original Air will be five years old by November. It's still like new. I just fancy the larger screen and the proper multi-tasking stuff.

Pfft.

Ridiculous price for the new iPhones. I think I would get One Plus 6 in the future.

My sister has one with the Pencil. It's a really impressive piece fo kit, closest thing I've seen to a tablet that I could actually use as a laptop replacement.

I dont upgrade until May so thing could change but right now I think I may go XR. It seems to be the same as the XS but without the dual camera and mega screen but for a couple hundred less and right now I'm not sure I'm too fussed by the mega screen and dual camera to pay the extra for it.

We will see though, I know what I'm like and when the time comes I'll want the best one.... I certainly wont go Max though, the S8+ is just big enough to annoy me so I will be very happy to drop back a little in size.

Yeah pretty much they are the same effectivly except for the screen and camera, the cameras are the same MP but the XR has is single camera and the XS is dual camera.

But why?

It needs to be able to charge three devices at once and the watch doesn't use the standard QI charging method that phones do so they need to accommodate that. Normal wireless charging pads just have a coil that the device has to placed over but this would need multiple ones or another method that could charge stuff no matter where it's placed on the pad. It also apparently needed it's own OS running on it to detect and manage the iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. Thwyd have to keep the temperature down too.

Im going to look at the XR too I think. Need an upgrade from my 6 but can’t pay £1000 for a phone.

What size is the space? Are they all 512GB?

Size puts me off a little as the XR is nearly as bug as a 8+ whereas the XS is smaller

You can pay £40ish a month and get a new iPhone every year.

That’s for the XS Max though. And it’s £1449.

The XR is £749 for 64GB, £799 for 128GB, and £899 for 256GB. The 128 seems the sensible choice.

EDIT: relatively sensible.

I wonder whether the standard X will drop in price from other retailers - its appears though Apple have abandoned the model completely, but are still selling the 7 and 8!
