Can anyone recommend a decent but affordable case for the iPhone 7. I got my new phone yesterday in the apple store, but decided against the official ones as they're like £50  On another note, this was an upgrade from an iphone 4s, so this thing feels damn snappy, transfer of old data was really easy, got all my apps, but now they load super fast, plus the screen image quality and res is really stunning. Nearly considered an android phone, but I just like IOS, plus I use apple music a lot and wasn't sure how well the app would work on android as far as syncing between icloud etc.

Computer exchange sell the official cases for much cheaper and they are new. I remember getting one for my iphone 6 for less than £20 at the time.

Its £28 for the iphone 7 case in black, which is a great saving.

Official Case. :datass:

I have one for my iPhone 7 Plus and I think it's bloody worth it. No dusts in the case compare to the cheap ones.

Curry's are currently doing 10% cashback on all Macs. So for example a MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display & Touch Bar at £2699 would equal £269 off.

It's basically a bit of a con by Apple/Curry's as it's just bringing it back in line to what they were before but still, better than nothing!

More price increases from Apple on the way:

BBC News wrote:Apple is to put up the price it charges for apps in the UK, India and Turkey.

UK costs will numerically match those of the US, meaning that a program that costs $0.99 will now be 99p.
That represents a 25% rise over the previous currency conversion, which was 79p.

"Price tiers on the App Store are set internationally on the basis of several factors, including currency exchange rates, business practices, taxes, and the cost of doing business," it said.

"These factors vary from region to region and over time."

The rise will also affect in-app purchases but not subscription charges.

A spokeswoman for Google was unable to comment about whether it had plans to alter prices on its Play store for Android apps.

Publishers' choice

Apple had already adjusted the UK prices of its iPhones and iPads in September and then its Mac computers in October by a similar degree.

Other tech firms to have announced price rises in the country in the months following the Brexit vote - which has been linked to a fall in sterling's value - include Microsoft, Dell, Tesla and HP.

To mitigate the impact of the latest increase, Apple is introducing new lower-price tiers.

Publishers will be able to charge users 49p or 79p for purchases but will have to re-price their products to do so.

"I don't think many publishers will respond to that change," commented Ben Dodson, an app consultant and developer of Music Tracker among other software.

"It's just throwing money away and there's no reason to give people in the UK a discount.

"I won't be discounting my own apps."

At present, $1 trades for 82p.

However, the price quoted by Apple in the UK version of its store includes the 20% VAT sales tax. In the US, state sales taxes are not included in advertised prices but are added at the point of sale.

India is facing the biggest rise in app prices on Apple's store.

"It was certainly inevitable that Apple would change the price point for apps in the App Store to reflect currency changes," commented Ian Fogg from the IHS Technology consultancy.

"But this is a normal part of the way the store works because it does not have dynamically changing prices that would change gradually."

The cost of a $0.99 app will become 80 rupees in India, representing a 33% rise from the previous price of 60 rupees.

In Turkey it will change from 2.69 to 3.49 lira, which is a gain of 30%.

The news site 9to5Mac was first to report the development.

It said the change would occur over the next seven days.

Apple has also altered the cost of apps in Romania and Russia to take account of local changes to VAT made at the start of the year.

Never misses a trick this company.

That doesn't tell the full story, developers can choose to re-price their app and reduce it to 79p and there will be a new starting price of 49p for apps.

I know I'm being picky but... it does say all of that.

Does anyone else find the battery percentage meter to be completely useless? I have an iPhone 6s and today it died on me at 43% left. Other days it's been 5%, 8%, 14%...or it'll actually rest at 1% for ages. It's terrible. I rarely turn my phone off though & just put it straight back on to charge, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Probably the battery or at least the battery's memory not updating it's charge level properly. Mine does that too but it's not bad enough yet to warrant opening it up and doing a battery swap yet.

There was a batch of 6Ss with faulty batteries. Trying putting your serial number in here and see if it's one of the affected ones https://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone ... dshutdown/

It is. :fp:

Purchased from Amazon UK (via marketplace) but Apple are telling me that "Consumer Law Does Not Apply on International Purchase" and I'll have to pay. Might just be easier for me to trade it in.

Unlucky :dread: I had one of those batteries too, so I got mine swapped the other week. Had to queue up outside the Apple store before it opened for an appointment as I couldn't book in on their website. Felt like such a pleb :fp: It's still got pretty shoddy performance (like it's at 20% by the end of the work day) but at least it's accurate now. Bought one of those "Smart" Battery Covers off ebay just so I don't need to constantly worry about plugging it in...

How much did they want for a new battery?

£86.44. What a bargain!

I'd rather just give it to CEX/Cash Converters closer to September & buy a brand new one. I've managed for the past 2 years, I'm sure I can manage another 9 or so months. Apple claim it's perfectly safe... :shifty:

My 6S easily lasts the day but I got a little Anker rechargeable battery thing if I'm out all day and going to be using my phone a lot, it gives around a full charge and a half of the phone when fully charged and it does it really fast too so it wasn't bad for around £12 off Amazon.

Does anyone know if it's possible to hide news from tabloids like the sun etc on the news app widget or can recommend a better news widget? I really don't care about these shitty headlines on my homepage.

Yes, go on the main screen when you unlocked and slide right to access the widget settings. There is an edit button that you can edit what you like. Hope it helps you. :)

Go into the main News app and click the share icon on one of The Sun's articles, there should be an option to mute the source, which should keep it from showing up anywhere in your feed.

EDIT - Oh it's actually called the Action button, I never knew that.
