I saw yesterday that the 12W iPad charger actually charges the 6 and 6 Plus faster than the normal one supplied with them. Seem to work going by how quickly it charged my 6, and it also explains why my iPad 4 takes so long to charge (I was just using my iPhone 5 charger because I couldn't be arsed changing the plug).

Yeah the iPad needs more juice so using the smaller iPhone plug takes ages. Surprised to hear the larger iPad charger charges quicker on the new iPhones, I'll have to check it out. Previous models the iPhone regulated the power and still charged at the normal rate.

The faster charging works if connected to Macs on Yosemite too http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/c ... a-adapters

It's not the voltage, it's the current.

There's a maximum current draw which is part of the USB standard. Tablet chargers are usually specced for better, allowing the device to draw more power if they need it... which of course, tablets usually do.

Max. current 0.5–0.9 A (general);
5 A (charging devices)

...i think?

Ah, is that this year's big launch scaremongering thing?

Apparently skinny jean wearers are having a tough time with the iphone 6 bending while in pockets. Meh.

Apparently it only affects the iPhone 6 Plus.

A warning to any other iPhone 6 users - I just updated to iOS 8.0.1 and this has now killed my cellular connection and touch id! I would hold off from updating if I were you - it seems to be a pretty widespread problem!

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

Of the 10 million units reportedly sold over the first weekend, does anyone know the breakdown of how many iPhone 6 pluses were sold compared to iPhone 6? I bet it was only about 1:4.

I think Apple has pulled that update.

Anyone seen the pics of the bent phones(6's) that people have been complaining about after keeping it in their pockets? Pretty gooseberry fool. Not that phones are designed for pockets but it shouldn't really bend and go weird after like one day.

I know it only happens on the 6 Plus, but I think I will pass on upgrading right now. For an expensive bit of kit you don't expect this at all.

Surely people aren't putting their phones in a back trouser pocket though are they?

For at least 8 months of the year I'll have my phone in an inside jacket pocket...conveniently covering my heart in case of stray bullets.

Most of the complaints are from front pockets from what I've read. Someone said he had it in his pocket for 6 hours and although it looks OK, it doesn't sit flat on a table anymore.

I always enjoy the hoax update someone makes for each release. The level of the fake adverts makes me half expect it is Apple to create more sales.
