I enjoyed this episode, Dev, and I hadn't realised the influence that Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja had upon the title. This is one tough game! I haven't played the arcade version but I did tackle the C64 and Game Boy conversions... the music is fantastic in both but I found the gameplay to be frustratingly difficult.

Nice work in including some Robocop movie sound bites :) . I'm looking forward to seeing the upcoming episodes :toot: .

Glad you liked it.

The music playing during the GB/C64/NES footage is the home conversion music that became quite iconic. It was even used in adverts for Ariston goods back in the day ("And on, and on, and Ariston" etc Weird ads).

Still not happy with a couple of things, but I think the dialogue flows a bit better than the last one and I'm happier with the audio in general. Looking forward to putting some proper time into the next episode, though it'll probably be late as well simply because it's due the weekend that the Switch launches and I'm gonna be all up in Zelda at that point.

Running behind with the new episode guys. Not gonna lie but Zelda has taken over my life. Busy the next couple of nights so it'll probably be mid-week before I can get it done. Apologies.

Apologies for the late episode. Blame Switch and Zelda.

It is. Had a really busy few weeks and weekends so not been about. But with BOTW no longer taking up all my time I'm hoping to get back on track with them. We'll resume with the Gradius vid, probably being out on Sunday.

No episode this week as Gradius is kicking my arse and I need to get further into it to grab footage. I've put it on easy and it's still horrendous. Took me forty minutes to get past the first stage once.

However I'll compensate by doing the Live Stream for it on Sunday.

So with Are You A Master Mario Maker 2018 (Link in sig Maker fans!) well underway, I'm starting to work out some initial plans to revive ARcade Attacks!

For those of you who have never seen the show you can find links to all the existing episodes in my sig, or on the first page of this thread.

So what would you want to see from new episodes?
Would you want the focus to stay solely on Arcade games or would you be interested in seeing games from a variety of formats?
Should the LIVE! streams make a return?
Do you like the current format of individual 5-10 minute episodes, or would you like a longer show that covers two or three?
Is there anything in particular that would make the overall presentation better?
Anything else you can think of?

...ARcade Attacks! is BACK! :toot: .

Would you want the focus to stay solely on Arcade games or would you be interested in seeing games from a variety of formats?
> I love seeing your Arcade views but I would also like seeing home format games i.e. old computer and console versions

Should the LIVE! streams make a return?
> I enjoy the capability of live chat in a live stream but, int terms of viewing times suitbale for everyone, perhaps a pre-recorded version is best.

Do you like the current format of individual 5-10 minute episodes, or would you like a longer show that covers two or three?
> I quite like the ten-minute mark, personally.

Is there anything in particular that would make the overall presentation better?
> I'm not sure if it suits your plans, but I always enjoy seeing different versions of a game i.e. if you were looking at, say, Space Harrier
arcade version then it'd be cool to also see clips - and hear your verdict - on the Master System, Mega Drive and 32X versions :-).

Anything else you can think of?
> I think your "slower talking" approach of latter episodes was excellent. Although the trend - particularly on YouTube - is for fast-talking hyperbole, I prefer a slower-paced presentation myself.

Really looking forward to seeing the new episodes - nice work, man!

Cheers Jawa, I'll look into some of that and see what might work.

I will say that I'm really just collating ideas at this point. This is still a ways off. While I do hope to have it started before AYAMM finishes up, it may need to wait till just after E3 (I've projected that AYAMM should end the Saturday before E3, so I'll be going straight into the E3 coverage videos at that point) to really get started.

Cool, dude - I got a bit carried away by the idea of the series returning  . I know that investigating and making these kinds of vids takes ages... but I'm looking forward to checking 'em out when they appear :) .

I recall that - ages ago now - you mentioned about the "investigative" gaming vids that Kim Justice produces on YouTube and, in past weeks, I've watched quite a few of her looks at Ocean, Imagine, US Gold et al. Kim does a terrific job in including interesting tidbits and they make for a great watch. Thanks for highlighting her work!

Yeah that's a really good channel. It's so rare to get an in-depth, long-form look at the history of the industry that isn't US or Japan-centric. Even some of the non-UK/EU stuff is really interesting, like the one about Tec-Toy and Sega in Brazil.

Well produced and very well researched, it's one of my favourite YT channels.

Cheers man.

For the first two it was just a horrible head-phone mic.

Then I moved onto using the mic on my iPhone and a voice recording app which gave much better quality. I'd then run it through Adobe Premier and a couple of filters to clean it up a bit and edit it down.

I'm considering investing in a more professional microphone set up at some point in the next year though.
