I've played several Zelda games over the years but the only one I've actually finished is Phantom Hourglass.

I've nearly finished Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and A Link to the Past but unbelievably in each case I couldn't actually finish them due to my game save becoming corrupted/lost and then I couldn't be bothered restarting them.

I didn't like OoT at all, mainly due to the god awful N64 pad.

Why do you get more points for Wind Waker (the easiest Zelda game but far) than Ocarina? Also why is LTTP only 2 points, when considered to be a hard game? Or is it a rarity thing? Explain.

There are no hard and fast rules but it is sort of based on rarity/difficulty. Plus everyone's completed LTTP and OoT.

Let's ask Jawa if this is correct.

22 here...not too bad! I would love to play and complete A link between worlds, but find the SNES Virtual Console version a bit unplayable. If it was remade using the Link Between Worlds engine I would.

So I can finally say I've finished Oracle of Ages! Turns out I had completed that annoying sub boss in the final dungeon and I just looked up 1 or 2 things on a walkthrough. Glad to finally know I've finished that game as it was bothering me for years. The last boss was pretty damn easy although I had a bunch of rings as well. Only took over 10 years... Whipped out the GBA-SP (still the best Nintendo Handheld design in my opinion).

There seem to be LOADS of trading/after-game items in this, mostly from swapping data between games. I'll probably do it on an emulator as the codes should still work.

I've just started Minish Cap on an emu. What a lovely little game, look's fantastic. Capcom did such a good job with these games. The pixel art is so colourful on GBA games it suits big screen emulation surprisingly well (although I don't blow up to full screen as that's ridiculous). Small touches like the on-screen buttons and roll move really make the game feel more up to date, before it went quasi-3D with Phantom Hourglass upward, which I found a little dull. Definitely going to sort out my Raspberry Pi with some emulators and play through the missing games in my collection.

I'm surprised A Link Between Worlds wasn't a little too retro for you, in your endless thirst for everything to be remastered. You're like the Catholic Church of gaming. If it's more than about eight years old you're simply just not interested.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with ALTTP and it's ages better than perhaps even a lot of PS3 games. It'll always have a timeless quality, and its game design is peerless. Arguably this is why Zelda hasn't ever truly broken out of the formula it established (maybe Majora's Mask did, but that is now seen as a curious experiment and one off).

I played the entire game on GBA SP and I got a great sense of achievement out of it. A very consistent and cohesive game with a great sense of scale, squeezed onto a portable it was amazing. I remember the different tunics being a great touch for the sense of progression. Of course now I understand that was before Ocarina of Time, which just made the game feel even fuller.

The tunics and whirlwind attack were exclusive to the GBA ALttP. Though there was different tunics in Link's Awakening DX.

I didn't know that. They also fixed a few things so some people think it's the definitive version.

Pretty sure there's glitches and game breaking bugs in the GBA version that's not in the SNES version. Either way ALttp is amazing, best Zelda for me, by far. I think it's one of the very few games I have played through multiple times.
