Been trying to watch for over 20 mins. I get about 5 secs every few mins. So I'm bailing this party. Will try and watch without spoilers later.

Congratulations OSC! :toot:

Here's the level Matt made for Cyborg

The Watching Artist - Congratulations OSC - B5BC-0000-02F7-EF7E
https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintend ... -02F7-EF7E

I just want to take this chance to thank everyone who took part in this over the past six months.

I couldn't have done it without all the makers, the posters and the viewers there to keep me interested. It's never been boring and it's a genuine pleasure to do this every week, even if I do get ragey from time to time.

I think we've got a genuinely deserving winner in OldSoulCyborg and it was great to play his levels each week as you never really knew what he was going to throw at you next.

Extremely well done guys. I'll see you all on the Switch!

Oh and I'm just exporting the videos to Youtube just now. Watch this space!

It's been said several times before, but thank YOU for organizing this whole thing. It's been a lot of fun taking part in this, seeing what others came up with, winning, catching the weekly Sunday stream,... just tons of fun.

And I'll definitely be back for the next one whenever the Switch version launches.

That was such a great ending to the competition... it's incredible to think that it has run for about six months!

Congratulations to OSC - creator of some superb levels - and also to TWA for providing admirable competition.

It has been terrific fun to take part in this and to have a laugh with a great range of GRcadians. It's clear that everyone put in a lot of time and effort in crafting their levels, and this helped to make the competition such a great success!

Finally... thanks to Cheeky Dev for all of the organisation, live shows and top, top videos... you did an amazing job, dude!

Congratulations OSC! :toot: Honestly I've no issue with the results. Your levels were just POW block heading awesome. Even if the POW block did kill me a couple of times. Hope you enjoy your bonus level.

Thank you all. Especially you Devlin. Those vids are amazing. If listed every ace touch we would be here forever. But the comment on the Dragon level? HAHAHAHAHA. You've done so much and its made GR a better place. Hope other members not taking part at least get to see some of it. Great of PMM to drop in and call me a banana split.

I've been trying to tidy up a few bits in the levels. So if anyone has some suggestions I'd like to know. There was an amazing exploit in the Bowsers Secret Star Factory level but I decided to take it out for fear of Devlin finding it. I might put it back. I dunno. It does kind of ruin it but its also a cool find. Such a shame you didn't ace the end first time. Would have been awesome. :datass: Lime wants me to film myself playing the level so I'll try and do that soon. I've fiddled with the Minish Cap level to make the last bit slightly easier. I looked at the failure positions and saw that one spot was causing the most deaths so have just moved things a touch to hopefully give you more room. It doesn't change the path you need to take though. Also now you cant go backwards. :P

The solution to the spring bit in the Toad level Dev is what you did (although I tend to use the vine to lower myself onto the bomb) but then go through the door back to the start. Hit the note block again (for the vine) then go down to the belt. Run across and use the spring to leap over onto the note block and then you land on the platforms. All you should have to do is run to the right. I've been trying to tweak the bomb section earlier so it flows slightly better. Also I had to turn my brain inside out to make the checkpointing work the way it does in that level. It hurt.

A very special thank you to Devlin for not just running the competition but doing so in a spectacular way. Your videos were wonderful but last night was especially amazing. Thank you

Really glad I tuned in last night to watch the final. So impressed with the ridiculously high level of... level making, as well as Cheeky's skill on the game. No idea how either of you came up with the designs for the levels. It would take me about a month to create something a million miles from them!

Congrats to OSC and commiserations to Matt. That Pow Block level was something else and was always going to be almost impossible to top. Haven't checked out everyone else's previous entries but definitely will when I pick up the game.

Huge thanks to Devlin for running it too obviously. It must take so much time and effort to set up and organise, but I guess it's worth it when you see how much everyone enjoys and appreciates it. Really cements how solid and supporting this community it as well. :toot:

This is probably as good a place as any but I've just got the final medal in Mario Maker 3D! It took 31 hours and is probably the best 2D Mario experience you are going to get! If you enjoyed playing the levels in this competition I can pretty much guarantee you will love the 3DS games.

That's without even touching the editor or download levels!

Well played, 'Chipz! I've not got the 3DS version because I was put off by the lack of online level sharing. Even so, I had heard that the 3DS take contained some excellent built-in levels.

Congratulations OSC, you've stood out through the competition and as others have said, the 'On a Rail' level really cemented your win. That was truly fantastic!

Also a big well done to my idol, Matt, who competed skilfully and bravely, making it a close run thing!

And big thanks to Cheeky Devlin, who yet again raised the bar for forum events, it truly was the complete package and was of exceptional quality.

I was really pleased to get to the semi-finals too! So thank you to all who took part for your votes - I had a few issues over the months, with my Mum's death during the first weeks, my dad having a serious fall and being in hospital for a month, and of course the infamous 'Broken Gamepad' level, which I appreciate you all enduring at the time!

It's been great fun. I'm not sure at this point when or if I will get a switch, so might not be able to take part next time (that is assuming Cheeky ever recovers from running this one!), but the two competitions have made SMM my most-played Wii U game, and deservedly so. So much fun, so many memories! :toot:

Thanks all! :D

Blimey, Lime... man, those months must have sucked :( . I hope you're getting through those tough times.

It's a good point about playing online with fellow GRcadians. My two most-played U games (bar Internet Browser, obvs  ) are Mario Kart 8 and Mario Maker... both of which I have virtually exclusively played online with you guys. Behold the POWER of GRcade :toot: .

Hi guys.

Well it's been almost ten months since OldSoulCyborg was crowned GRcade's Master Mario Maker and I'm beginning to get a bit anxious to start a fresh search and give the Wii U it's final moment in the sun.

With that in mind I'm in the (Very) early stages of planning for Are You A Master Mario Maker 3.

What I'm looking for right now are a few things.

First of all is feedback on the last contest. What worked, what didn't? Is there anything you really do/don't want to see again?

Next I'm looking to gauge interest levels. With Switch having been out for eight months now, have we all packed our Wii U's away? Will we have the participants that we need to make the contest work?

Finally I'm looking for any fresh ideas people might have for the contest. Any ideas at all. I'm not promising I'll use them, but they could be useful either way.

I'm looking forward to what you have to say guys!

Oh boy... it’s coming back! :toot: . I hope we can get a good number of people interested in joining up for this. It was tremendous fun last time!

It can take quite a lot of time to build decent courses but I feel that the commitment is worthwhile. As before, I hope the structure of the competition alllows folk to get a good shot at building several courses - people often lose their interest when they’re “eliminated” and, last time around, this effect was minimised very well. Tbh I’d be totes happy if it ran the same as before.

I haven’t thought about building courses since the last event and it’ll be great to get that vibe going again :) .

Hi Devlin. I don't have a Wii U, but I just want you to know that I enjoy keeping up with Master Mario Maker. I look forward to its return (and I'm hoping one day we get a Switch port and I can take part! :D ).
