Some of my favourite PMs I received...

Mocky, after he received his Vigilante Role PM:

Sykes after Seering Falsey on the first night:

Pacman visualising his kill on Riksilver:

I'm stalking him, watching him, my fingers loosely gripping the cold steel of a concealed weapon, and as soon as fate allows (whether immediately as originally implied was possible or after the wolf killings tonight) the last sound he hears will be a sudden and unexpected "BA-"...

(He won't hear the NG because he'll be dead lolololol)

One of Dangerblade's voting PMs:

If anyone is doing this please cease and desist. Thanks.

Sweet cover of the DMaLpha there. I'm onto you. And him. :shifty:

Because, DML was indeed signing off his wolf kill PMs as such:

Was there any logic in killing me and Sykes at that time?

It was particularly annoying as I had just been Seered. I guess it was coming within a day or so, and I was eager to get the wolves down to one kill to try and prolong my lifespan.

I did, I just wanted to see it. I thought he'd sent you the wolf kill PM or something rather than just his lynch.

Alas, he was gotten to before he had the chance to fire the shot.

Cool. I'm prepared to believe no one passed the knowledge onto DMaLpha and it was just a coincidence but I can't help but wonder how differently it would have played out if I'd posted in-thread rather than sharing with the people I trusted. There's a few things I should have done differently but it's all a learning curve.

EDIT: @Qikz ^^^

Well for one, we knew you were the vote rigger because you told DML  we didn't know if you had used your power yet and didn't want you deciding a lynch. Sykes was more of a hunch but it became clear he was contacting people independently and was insistent on leaving the riklist alone, which struck me as odd as well thought Sykes would be the type of player to see that through.

Bah, I knew DML could only be the Alpha due to being Seered, so I thought if he was then if he knew I was a vote rigger he would keep me alive. Especially as he had already asked me to use the power on him (I was never going to use the power to help him, but I tried to be as vague and non-committal as possible so he thought he might persuade me). I also made vague promises of being in the know and having names of a group, and that I would disclose these to him later. I tried to be mysterious enough to pique his interest.

Though when I asked him to switch his vote, that was to save Met. I didn't want to ask him as I didn't trust him (I didn't think he was the Alpha until after I died, as I wasn't focused on the Alpha at all, but just getting the normal wolves through the Unseered list and getting them to one kill). Unfortunately, Shadow's mayorship was winning on a platform to potentially lunch Met, so we had to do something to save him. I didn't vote myself to draw attention to me, but I know a few of the group did and it was picked up. Someone else voted the other way just before DML switched, otherwise his vote would have saved Met from being a lynch candidate, which would have been a small victory.

There was a group of people hellbent on getting through that Riklist, and t was really difficult trying to turn opinion against it without block-voting or appearing as a group.

I even said when I contacted DML that I was deliberately throwing caution to the wind for once (it was going to be Pacman I PM'd but he died). My thinking was that if DML was the alpha or if my role leaked to the wolves through him, I would be kept alive so they could think they could manipulate me and my power or try and get names through me.

If anything, because DML was always firmly in the public eye, I thought he might want me as an insurance in case he was put up for lunching. I was only ever going to use the power to save myself or as a decision made by the circle of people in the know.

Did Ironhide know I was the vote rigger then, when he nominated me? It seems pretty stupid to try and bluff about someone if you know they are a good special role. Especially one where I could ensure I wouldn't be killed in a lynch. That was such a massive mistake by him. And then you killed me as well, proving he was bullshit.

You were fooling no-one.

EDIT - It became far too dangerous to keep you alive. One seered wolf and we guaranteed a dead wolf every time one was found.

I was tempted to say I would save you and then use the time difference as an excuse for missing the PM deadline.

I thought this would be too cruel if you were a good guy (and as a forum friend and long time acquaintance) so I went down the non-committal reply route. It would have been hilarious had you ended up being lynched that way, in hindsight.

I also thought I might lie, say I had used my power and then hope the general vote saved you, so I looked like I had rigged the vote. This, I thought, was too risky as it could be reveal in thread as me "lying" about being a vote rigger. Again, it would have been quite funny, and now I know you're an evil bastard I wish I had messed about with you a bit more, as I was trying to make the game interesting, considering I was usually asleep for a lot of it. I didn't want to piss you about if you were a God-fearing villager though, as you might have proved useful then.

The group knew I was in contact with you and that you knew my power, and I was tempted to try and feed you mis-information, but I must admit I hadn't fully made my mind up on you at the time.

As I said, I wasn't really thinking about the Alpha at this time, just about staying alive and getting a Seered wolf. Once dead and outside the game, i did eventually twig that you were likely the Alpha, but I didn't think about it whilst playing. The only consideration I gave it was to give you no information and to appear useful so that you might want to use me. This way, if you were a villager or a wolf, it wouldn't really make much difference me contacting you. Best case scenario, you were a villager and any support i seemed to give you would look earnest; worst case, you were a wolf and any support I gave you would keep me alive.

Now I know that you are a cruel hearted monster I just won't offer any support - real or false - next time. Bah.

My big worry in these games is that the wolves will kill me early, so I thought I didn't really have anything to lose by telling a wolf my power. I didn't deliberately try and tell a wolf it but just contacted DML as he was a player at the centre of things with influence, but at the back of my mind, I prepared for the chance and hoped it might save me from the kills, if he was a bad 'un. I didn't know he had been Seered at this time either.

I was more suspicious of you before I knew that. Once I found out you had been Seered, I must admit my suspicions lulled, thinking that if you were the alpha you were not playing a great game, as I thought you would be killed by the villagers quite quickly, actually. At the time I died, I was surprised you were still in the game.

So I thought It was only after my death and looking from the outside in that I slowly came around to the idea.

But it was an idea that was put around in the thread even very early on, so it was a bold move. You treaded a very fine line and, for the most part, you did so very well, but personally I think that maybe you created a touch too much fuss and controversy early doors and this ever-so-slightly caught up with you just at the end.

Corazon was a big suspicion of mine - he was saying he was busy but he was posting regularly elsewhere and across quite a large number of topics, and his AYAW posts were jokey, nothing replies. Then he should become much more active in the thread and making sensible posts, and my suspicions just broke. Thus my own real inkling died. And then I did.

It is really hard following this thread with the time difference, especially in the first week. And especially when DML and Qikz are making a clusterfuck each day.

EDIT - I was also so tempted to use the power on the day all the votes had to be public. For no reason other than it would have been funny to read the reactions in the thread.

I like how I was the one person in the thread once Parksey and Sykes died that mentioned that it was really fishy that everyone who spoke to DML: Kezzer, Sykes and Parksey all ended up dead. I guess I did a really good job of making people not want to listen to me and DML did a great job turning people against me. The way you kept PCCD from believing I was innocent was pretty damn amazing.

He did that all of his own accord.

I also made sure there was a fair delay between finding out peoples identities and killing them. Kezzer, Parksey, Sykes...none of them died immediately. Besides, we were still filtering off tonnes of info.

And those people who thought they were really good at hiding the truth, you obviously weren't. We had an inexperienced pack, I admit I'm dreadful at this game and we picked you off with ease. We never knew anyone's identity for certain bar Parksey I believe.

To be fair, it took you lot ages to pick off any special roles, bar Mocky and Pacman (who gave himself up so that doesn't count).

Felt it was risky, I did need to be trusted. I'm glad I didn't as well, we would have lost the game much sooner. Drum, please don't bring back the Bodyguard role in that way.
