I wasn't too involved in all the secret goings on, but found that a very fun game, and probably the best AYAW I've taken part in. Even kept reading after death just to see what happened.

Well done Drummy, great job. I think the lack of Witchdoctor was a great decision. Will be interesting to see how the format can evolve from here.

Cribs did.

Dan. wrote:I think the game was definitely fairer for the redistribution of wolf kills, by the way. Giving them a number of nightly kills proportionate to their remaining number is much less punitive than the previous system of lose a wolf, lose one nightly kill. Kept the game competitive for much longer.

Oh, that was the other thing I changed (but forgot to mention). Losing a wolf early has been known to happen to many packs and I definitely felt this was an imbalance that has long needed fixing.

Tiarny's Are You A Mod game is the one which really highlights it - StayDead was killed on Day 1 and the Mods were down to 2 kills per day in no time. That extra kill they were missing each day could have changed the entire face of the game. As it happened, a seer/protection cycle had been formed inside the first week and the game was essentially won from there.

Just also want to say how much I enjoyed my first AYAW? game! I only signed up on a whim because I saw the signups thread was closing in 10 minutes and thought "hey, why not". Little did I know how much of my time it would suck up over the coming week or so  Even after death it was great fun. I've read every page in this thread! Cheers Drumstick for running it.

99% sure he wasn't because we didn't need to. Sykes, Met?

Pacman told us all he was a villager so we didn't bother wasting our time. In fairness it was bloody obvious he was a villager.

Oh I couldn't mention this during the game as it may have risked compromising you, but you actually played in Tiarny's first AYA*? game: Are You A Bluehat. So this wasn't your first game. :shifty:

One last thing (I hope): As I mentioned previously, I didn't make any dramatic changes to the game. I didn't feel that it needed anything crazy, just some small tweaks which I introduced to try and even the sides. The reasons I approached the game this way are because this was my first forum game and the most popular of all games in our community, so I didn't want to rock what seemed to be a winning formula too much.

If I were to run another of these, I would probably look to make some significant changes to the structure and dynamics of the game to freshen it up a bit. Some examples of what I mean are DML's 'Two Islands' system or the 'Bridge' mechanic in his previous games, although I would hope my ideas wouldn't prove to be massive hindrances to a large number of players in the game. Whilst I was critical of both of those I do applaud him for trying to implement something new. This was very much a back to basics game. Indeed, out of all the AYAW games our community has seen, it resembled the first two the most, with a hint of the third game thrown in.

I guess all that's left to do is to ask what people would want from a future game... you guys must have a lot of ideas between you.

This is not a game but strawberry floating circle jerk.

PPM and DML tossing each other while the scousers all pretend to be valuable members of society .

Drum you did well but the players are utter wankers

You're a coward and a caricature. The only reason you're tolerated is because people enjoy laughing at you.

With the new page limit rule, do we have to get to page 250 on this game before we are allowed to play another?

Always surprising to see the most ineffective (and most ignored) member of the entire game talk about two of the more/most influential (and listened to) members of the game in an incestuous manner  . Dblock - if you'd picked your loud, random and ignored accusations on bits of paper at random out of your pimp hat then you still would have been statistically more useful and influential to this game than you were

I don't think DBlock understands how a game works.

Sorry, my sentence was unclear. You were saying it was obvious Qikz was a villager, I was saying DML kept assuring it was obvious that he, DML, was a villager - not Qikz.
