What with Microsoft saying they are going to kill Sony and Sony themselves revealing the PS4 and it's games...what isn't there to get excited about?

Potentially the best E3 in years and years and years!

What he said! It's the dawn of a new generation. Two consoles are launching and the rivalry between Microsoft and Sony will be at maximum levels. There is also a PR battle to win the hearts and minds of the core gamers so both will be pulling out all the stops so hopefully loads of new IPs. Also, for the first time ever I will be attending the E3 expo! Hopefully I'll get to see both the new Xbox and PS4.

In terms of the actual difference these consoles will make to gaming the leap from last gen seems more iterative and is not such an easy sell. PS2/Xbox1 to PS3/360 bought HD graphics. PS3/360 to PS4/Xbone brings... better lighting effects and more social features? I just want some quality games and ideally a new Western RPG. All we need is snow on the 25th and Christmas will be perfect!

Yes absolutely. Everyone is going to be more desperate for people to buy their stuff than at any previous E3 I can remember, there's a real sense of competition to it. Especially looking forward to the Nintendo Direct as there should be some really exciting WiiU happenings, at least there had better be.

Hesitantly excited. I say after Microsoft continually strawberry float up their conferences and always leave a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of E3. Going in with low expectations but still excited.

They know the reveal conference didn't go down well so they will pull out all the stops. Also some games are only revealed at the VGA awards in December. I suspect that if Microsoft has any exclusives they won't save them for the VGAs and instead show everything they can now.

I'm pretty excited to see what Nintendo show. I'm not that bothered this year about ms and sony's events. Although I think that's down to me being skint and trying to convince myself the new machines will be gooseberry fool, so I won't want to buy one.

Don't understand those that aren't looking forward to it. New console E3s are the best. Not just because of the new machines and games, but the forums are awash with activity. The E3 discussion, fights and debates are all what makes it such an entertaining event.

I'm intrigued to see what the "huge" Xbox 360 announcement will be. A better Gold service (a la PS+)? A massive new budget range of hits (a la PS3 Essentials)? COD map one month exclusivity?

I'd much prefer it to be a re-designed 360; tiny like a Mac Mini, containing a DVD drive, 1TB HDD, power pack and silent fan.. for £150. Mmmn-mmn.

I'm not so much excited as curious. I've got the conference days booked off work again so I'll be watching it all anyway.

Incredibly excited :D

With new hardware announced there should be quite a bit of new I.P. and surprises. Could be the best E3 for years and we've only one week to go!

can't go anywhere without GoT spoilers these days :fp:

I'm more excited for the car crash moments and the resulting GIFs. Microsoft did well a few weeks ago in that respect, so I am hoping for more of the same from them
