I have just checked the sign up thread and it does appear that I have just assumed that you wanted to play. Apologies for forcing you onto the spaceship and flying you to Mars to (potentially) die a painful lonely death 225,300,000 km from home.

On the plus side forcing you in bumped up the game numbers and made me look more popular. I am sure you will agree that that is a big big win.

Cheers!

When the game is over I will let you know my original idea for the game. That would have been a strawberry floating bloodbath.

Indeed. To balance this, I imagine Moggy (as per his hints in the OP) has some interesting events planned that could prove really crucial.

I love each and every AYA? equally, but I think this could be the freshest and most interesting game we've played in a while.

Interesting game!

I like how everyone stays in the game until the end, that should keep it running along quickly throughout.

So if you get infected does that mean you are now on the Alpha's team and win by outnumbering the humans?

So the infected don't kill, only humans have ability to remove people from game. This is a very different AYA and with players staying in it will hold interest hopefully. My only concern is that it's gonna be pretty tough for us to win if the infected keep growing in numbers.

More people stay in the game than they usually do, but there will be deaths.

6pm: The leader must send me a PM with the name of the person he wants to die.

There will be a "lynching" each day. There might also be other roles, traps and events that murder the gooseberry fool out of you all.

So if you get infected does that mean you are now on the Alpha's team and win by outnumbering the humans?

Correct. The Alpha will pick somebody to infect and that person is then on Team Infected. The infected will start out hopelessly outnumbered, but unless the Alpha is killed the numbers of infected will grow each day and they will win if their numbers are higher than the Human numbers.

It's like an AYA version of The Thing.

Cool game, human as a mummy strawberry floater. Thankfully, was worried before checking that I might be the alpha which would've destroyed the game as my access to wifi's gash.

A likely story...

The first lynchings will be harsh! We'll have roughly a 1/60 chance of getting the Alpha and basically everyone else will be clean. :dread:

Parksey wrote:To be honest, this concept is going to make the game play out very differently. I am certainly interested in how it goes. Could totally refresh the game or it could prove unbalanced, but it's certainly going to be something new.

Obviously, the one thing we will lose is seeking out a "pack mentality" tying the wolves together. Here there may be nothing at all connecting the bad guys, and they may not even be working together or aware of one another.

Basically as the game progresses we will almost certainly hit on infected with decent regularity you would hope, but finding the Alpha in the haystack is going to be really tricky.

Is there any point in even trying to catch normal infected though, unless they provide a tangible use to the Alpha I don't think he will bother contacting them.

I quite like the concept, however I'm not sure how well the uber high stakes of the game will work given it can be over with a lucky guess, or one small mistake.

So the real 'baddies' are the humans that kill. If this were an AI experiment then the best game theory outcome would be that we all refuse to lynch, all become infected, and therefore all win. GG everyone.

I have now disabled the "Who is Online?" page that can tell you if someone is viewing PMs. If you find a way around it, I would appreciate it if you could please just quietly PM me rather than misusing it. I haven't discussed this threat with Moggy at all ( ;) ) but I would imagine there may well be in-game consequences for cheating in this way.

The fact humans aren't out when the alpha gets them is very interesting. No idea how we'll chose who to lynch early on unless there's some decent roles that might help, assuming there are any.

I guess the traditional seer role is essentially defunct in this game.

I like this new infected twist. Good work, Mocky Moggy.

The more infected that we kill, the longer it will be before the infected outnumber the humans and win.
