Actually, on Saturday Karl tried to downplay Sykes, and he could have already been infected at that point I think. I say we go for him, we should have got rid of him as soon as he tried to help Ironhide really. Better than going for a random and getting another human.

We've got six days left before the infected outnumber us and get the win that way.

Although that's wrong now I think about it as that doesn't take in to account lynches and people being randomly offed.

Is it confirmed that Rik was killed by the scanner? It may be worth going back and looking at previous vocal players like Dan/Karl who we're infected and see if there was any similarities in their votes etc too.

And is there a way of checking if someone still hasn't posted in the thread yet?

Also, I could be wrong about this, but we really need to leave Sykes along. Killing him is a waste of a lynch I believe. I don't necessarily agree with the new alpha having to be a human, as Met says, what's to stop it have gone to a previous card holder? And what's happened to our cards, have they all gone now too?

Haven't been about much last few days and currently trying to catch up-could someone explain to me how the space scanner works? Or at least how we think it works if we don't know for sure?

It looks like it works by scanning the chosen target and either killing the person if they come back as infected or else confirming to the rest of us that the person is human in thread.

Over the past few days people have been killed if their role comes back as special uninfected also. I don't know if one of the space marines has been infected and thus has had the ability change to kill any specials, or if the gas from one of the vials has resulted in this change. I had thought it was the gas - but everyone else seems to think one of the marines has been turned.

Just seems silly to focus on something to the complete exclusion of others.

Yup. Assuming that you can only have one fixed named ability is a potentially dangerous mistake. If we eliminate a set of people which actually contains the Alpha, then the game is lost.

Well the last 24 hours have been little short of disastrous, hopefully our ace in the hole Moggy is referring to can turn things around sharpish.

I agree with Met and others that there is no particular reason to assume the new Alpha is among the humans. If it was entirely random then odds are the new alpha is a human simply from numbers, but if it was a person who had a hidden passive to become the alpha from the start then it could just as easily be anyone. Not sure what that means we should do in terms of lynching now though.

Did Moggy mention that whoever opened the vial yesterday (Cora) might know something that could swing the game? Or something along those lines. I'm posting on my phone from work so sorry for being awkward.

PS

While I have made everything sound terrible, the gas ought to also strengthen the linchpin of the human defence. I don't want to say too much but I would imagine the person in question will know what the gas has done to him and he will take steps to defend you all.

I guess it means it's affected a different person, probably someone with some kind of role.

Anyone wanna step forward and share anything?

If we lynch Sykes and he survives then we have a guaranteed non infected.

If he dies then he was lieing and he tried to protect the alpha.

I cant believe people are so willing to let his claim of special role with multiple powers and protection of the alpha remain untested.

I think the issue is if we lynch him and he doesn't die, there's still no guarantee he's on our team so to speak. Everything that's been said so far would indicate that he has a different win condition to the rest of us. I agree that we should probably still get rid at some point though.

Maybe, but it would at least clear up the position on whether he is an infected who tried to protect the Alpha. We don't appear to have any great leads/ideas at the moment so would make sense to me to at least attempt to clear up one loose end.

I agree. The odds of lynching completely randomly and hitting the alpha are minuscule, may as well tie up a loose end until we have something better to go on.

I don't see why the alpha couldn't be anyone as well; surely moggy could simply have PM'd someone that the alpha role now supersedes whatever role they were given in the first place. If it was truly random then that surely must be a possibility.

I agree Sykes is a loose end and I still feel his power set is unlikely.. Immune AND un lynchable, in essence he can only be taken out of the game by vigi. That just doesn't seem right to me.

However we should focus on the Alpha, and it clearly isn't him - He was already defending Ironhide (who was alpha at the time) so its unlikely the power would transfer to him. More likely case is that he was already infected OR he's playing a lone wolf role. Neither is helpful to our goal, but then taking him out wont really lead us any closer to a win.

I have a lot of information about the player set up, roles and what they do etc. and I have a feeling that the infected scanner might take a shot at me tonight. Not really sure what to do with it all.

.

Has it been confirmed that the new Alpha would have only been randomly assigned to a human only?

From reading moggy's note about it, it reads like it was just randomly assigned to anybody, including infected and humans

A quick update on the keycards (seeing as I have been asked).

The Blue keycard was held by Edd. This was lost when he died.

The Yellow keycard has been lost as it was passed to an infected.

The Red keycard is still out there.
