After having only just started (and rapidly finished) season 1 of The Flash, I'm now working my way through Arrow season 1 (the death count is hilarious) and now looking forward to this spin off that I'd not even heard of till now.

Yeah they got that a bit off in Season 1. This isn't really a spoiler but one of the later episodes can be summed up as
Ollie hunts a murderous vigilante. When he corners him he explains killing isn't a solution and then kills him

Season 2 is Arrow at its best and yet season 1 of Flash was much better.

Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) are taking flight on The CW this season, and the network has released the first photo of the two DC Comics heroes in costume. They’ll make their debut together in crossover episodes of “Arrow” and “The Flash” before spinoff series “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” premieres at midseason.
Hawkgirl (aka Kendra Saunders) and Hawkman (aka Carter Hall) are soulmates and reincarnations of Ancient Egyptian royalty, fated to be reborn throughout time. Both heroes can access the powers of the Hawk God Horus, allowing them to sprout wings from their backs.

OK start, a lot of stuff to fit in and apparently this was only the 1st half of the pilot. Hopefully by the end of episode 3 we'll have more of an idea how the week to week episodes will go.

Yeah I think they should have really done a double bill opener. Episode was good though and I liked the explanation for why those characters were chosen for the team.
Captain & Tennille bar fight should have gone on longer. I love that song.

Solid pilot episode. I enjoy The Flash and Arrow so I expect this will become part of the regular viewing too.
