What a fantastic game of cricket. Was great to have such a close game after the one sided quarter finals that we got. Unlucky to South Africa, they kept that as tight as they possibly could.

Amazing that SA took it to the wire despite the missed runout oppertunities and that catch debacle.

This one looks as good as over. India need to start scoring with more boundaries otherwise they're going to end up facing a run rate of 12-15 an over.

Edit: Now it's over.

Daniel Vettori has retired from international cricket. :(

It's going to be very odd watching a New Zealand side without him in. He's been playing in their various teams since just after I started watching. I still remember his debut against England - I was 9 at the time - it just seemed mental to me that someone so young could be representing their national cricket side.

I was very privileged to grow up watching/listening to Richie on the beeb, he was utter class as a commentator and (from what I've heard) a very fine cricketer and sportsman. If there is a cricket pitch up there then they've got a hell of a commentating team now with Richie, CMJ and Brian Johnson. RIP Richie.

Very very sad. So knowledgeable, gentle, professional, and extremely subtle in his great wit. True gent.

This news actually upset me this morning - one of the final links to the classic era of cricket. My Nan was always a huge fan of his and since her death he'd always reminded me of her. The tributes on BBC 5 live and currently airing on sky are close to putting tears in my eyes :( cricket won't be the same again.

I was at the Rose Bowl in in 2008 or 2009 at a game which Benaud was commentating on and I walked past him and it's the only time in my life I've been utterly starstruck as I walked past. He was speaking to someone as I went past and just having heard his voice in person is an incredible thing for me. RIP :(

Aggers' quote about what is a 'disaster' and what is a 'tragedy' are fantastic. I can imagine Richie saying them now. Real measure of the man.

It's time to say goodbye but the privileged was ours, Mr Benaud. Rest in peace and thank you.

One of the most ridiculous catches I've ever seen just happened in the IPL

 I look forward to the next boundary wonder catch which will make that one look like an everyday occurrence.

Great end to yesterday's game.

KP currently 47 not out off 58 balls on his comeback for Surrey against Oxford University. Surrey currently 132-5... must be an interesting wicket.

I love first full day of the County season, plus IPL, plus Test Match begins tomorrow against the Windies

England selectors planning for the future again :fp:

What sense is there in picking Trott out of position and Tredwell?

If I was Joe Root I'd be getting real tired of bailing out the rest of the team every single game.
