I think they are in a kind of semi-official partnership with Sky Sports/Sky.

edit: Oh god yeah! Wireless Group is owned by News Corp. That explains the above relationship

As awful as it is, the decision appears to have been made by the respective West Indian and Sri Lankan cricket boards. According to Aggers, our friends at the ECB are (for once) blameless on this occasion.

I wasn't at all aware that opposition boards get a say in who delivers our UK coverage.

The concept could see innings consist of 15 traditional six-ball overs, and a final 10-ball over.

As they're reducing the number of balls, they should score two runs per run between the wicket

It’s about time that cricket was fully decimalised.

10 balls per over.
100 overs per game.
1000 points per run.
10000 points per boundary (if it bounces)
100000 points per boundary (if it doesn’t bounce)
1000000 points if you hit it out of the ground.

The scores will be MASSIVE (except for England) and the crowds will LOVE IT.

Ah man. So disappointed they didn't introduce scoring zones  I was expecting another cricket format to be introduced (dunno why, I just was) but was also expecting it to be much more sillier than what's been announced. Though I guess they are at least trying with the 10 ball over

If you can find them you've got to watch the highlights of RCB vs. CSK for one of the most Dhoni innings ever. Comes to the wicket with CSK in massive trouble on 74/4 in the 10th over chasing 206. He smashed 70* (34) to get CSK home with 2 balls to spare. :slol:

I trust you chaps have seen the selection announcement. :fp:

The things I don't understand are, why keep Stoneman but not Vince? They're in the same boat, except Vince has had an alright start to the county season, Stoneman has been terrible. I'm not shedding any tears for Vince, I would agree with dropping him but I think they should have dropped Stoneman too. I would guess that these two Pakistan matches are his last chances.

Apparently Root will bat at 3 'for the good of the team', Malan will come in at 4 and Bairstow at 5, the latter of which is long overdue.

Why in hell's name have they gone back to Buttler? :fp:

The only good thing about this squad is that they didn't take the easy option and go back to Moeen. Instead they look to be trying to find a specialist spinner, which IMO is 100% the right move.

I'm really unsure on Buttler, I just don't see scenarios where you need someone who might bludgeon 50 runs in double quick time in a test match. Given England's recent batting history, he's far more likely to be coming in where he needs to hold an innings together after early losses. Plus, he scores his runs against significantly different fields. I think ultimately this will have been a mistake.

Definitely no tears for Vince, he's flattered to deceive far too often in test matches. We don't need a no. 3 who averages 20 odd and gives his wicket away with stupid strokes outside off stump.

Jury is still out on Stoneman though I think he's only there due to a lack of serious competition. Same with Cook, he's had his day and if there was a decent alternative then I think he'd have been retired a while back.

No idea on the spinner. England definitely need one but we never take the gamble and play them enough for them to develop at test level. It's understandable given English wickets but it means we've no chance in the sub-continent. i don't think he'll play.

With regards to test selection.
