Great performance aside from the top order batsmen.

I'll take credit for Broad's good spell, still think Woakes has to play the next test regardless of Stokes. It will be a shame if Curran gets dropped as well, but Broad isn't going to want to miss Trent Bridge.

They've named the same squad for the third test.

I wonder if there will be any rotation...

By which you mean, will a spinner actually bowl? :P

Stokes not guilty. Well well.

I think you have to go with the same 11, the only options you'd be looking at swapping in are Moeen for Woakes or Curran (not going to happen) and/or Porter for Broad or Anderson (again, not going to happen as both of them love bowling at Trent Bridge). I'm expecting a Broad wonder session on the first morning, his tail is definitely up.

Easily same XI unless they're happy upsetting Jimmy or Broad. Kind of unfortunate for Porter.

We win this game and then I'd rest Broad for one and Jimmy for the other and let Porter have a couple of games.

Same. I guess they didn’t think he was sufficiently dangerous to the public, just to Hale and Ali.

I’d like to see them doing this, resting Curran, and playing Joverton or someone as well. But then I’d also like Phoenix Wright in Smash Bros., which is about as likely.

I'd quite like them to give Cook a rest for a couple of games too and then blood another opener. But that's not likely either I guess.

England cricketer Ben Stokes has been found not guilty of affray after a fight near a Bristol nightclub.

The Durham all-rounder, 27, denied the charge following the fracas between a group of men last September.

Ryan Ali, 28 - who was knocked unconscious in the brawl - was also found not guilty of the same charge.

Sounds a lot like affray to me

Stokes has been added to the squad for the 3rd test so it looks like someone is missing out. What do you think? I'd imagine it'll either be Rashid, Pope or more likely Curran.

Rashid would be the most ECB decision. Does Stokes fancy opening?

I think it'll be Curran if Stokes does come back in.

I think you're right which will be a terrible shame as the kid hasn't put a foot wrong since coming in. Stokes is definitely going to play, they wouldn't be adding him to the squad at this late stage if he wasn't.

It’s a damn shame, especially because for all that Stokes offers slightly less predictable bowling than your other three classical seamers, Curran’s the only one who actually does something different. That won’t matter until it does.

I'd rather they keep Stokes out of the series tbh until the ECB have decided what they are going to do with him. I appreciate he probably wants to get back on the field as soon as possible but they've got to start trying out players like Porter before Jimmy and Broad call it a day and we end up with the (never ending) Strauss problem except with an opening bowler.

Off to the TMS vs Tailenders game this evening in Derby. Should be a bit of fun and hopefully Swann and Vaughan don't get many runs/wickets.

And it's Curran who misses out :( Bit of a kick in the teeth for the lad.

There’s a joke to be made somewhere about literal kicks in the teeth, but I’m too irritated to make it. Four rfms! Because three just wasn’t enough! The Test when both played, one of these two got Man of the Match, and it wasn’t Ben.

Anyway, hope you enjoy tonight, Rex. Hope Vaughn gets humiliatingly run out and ends up face-down mid-pitch.

They could have just left out Buttler seeing as he's not contributed anything to this series so far.
