I’ve bought into the Buttler bandwagon to be honest. I don’t know whether the innate brilliance will make up for the lack of temperament, but it’ll be fun finding out, I think.

Fitting in Stokes was always going to be tough, but Curran, being the only leftie, would never have been the one to drop for me. Think it might have been Stokes actually. When Woakes and Curran have made MotM awards, being found not guilty of affray doesn’t actually stack up terribly well.

To me the problem actually revolves around Jonny Bairstow.

Right now Jos Buttler comes in to bat at 7. It is stupid having a specialist batsman coming in at 7. If you want Buttler in the team give him the gloves, freeing Bairstow up to focus on batting. Otherwise there's no reason to have Buttler in the team.

As it is, they aren't taking the gloves off Bairstow, so drop Buttler, keep Curran and Woakes in and that still allows Stokes to return.

Won the toss and bowl, heading for a Broadie magic spell.

Curran would've had three by now.

How was the match yesterday? I'm half way through it on iPlayer, great fun so far.

It was a fun few hours though a bit cold. A couple of the celebs looked good (Harry Judd was decent) and Vaughan still has class with the bat. Tuffers bowled some tripe and I was disappointed Dagnall only had 1 over. Must have been well over 5000 there which is the probably the most at Derbyshire for many years.

Have to say that this pitch at Trent Bridge looks particularly unlively; I would not be surprised if this went to Day 5 .

England have a tendency to fold on soft pitches. On the other hand this could be Cook’s score of the series.

Would be handy to have a different angle of seam to turn to right about now...

Not many more! Rashid many not be getting stacks of wickets (as a spinner in England), but he’s doing okay.

Perfect .gif usage.

The counter for how many runs Jennings has to score to compensate for the drop is now running!

Hopefully we can get the rest out for 350 in the morning. Not a terrible day considering the pancake-esque pitch.

Right, come on then Jos, this is what you were brought back into the team for. Fastest test century is yours for the taking here.
