Not a terrible day but England need to break this partnership early tomorrow with the new ball.

We had a great chance when we got Smith as Handscomb only had 9 at that point but it's got away from us.

“You’re getting sacked in the morning!” Terrible terrible decision. If you are betting on this match. Put £20 on an Aussie win by an innings.

The bowlers have been toothless for the most part of today. Need to attack the stumps more.

If we lose this test - can't see any way back for us.

That's the series gone then. Today was going to be pivotal and we've thrown it away.

Sorry lads - I mis-spelled "Moeen" as "Cook" in my above post. #Believe

What a bloody awful morning. Root and Vince should be absolutely fuming at their shot choice. Bloody dig in, for goodness sake.

I genuinely feel this massive push towards improving One Day cricket in England has completely screwed our test team. SO impatient. It's ridiculous. They literally cannot play out a session and grind it out. The shot before the one Moeen got out to was absolutely appalling. I'm always one of the final people to over-criticise but that was absolutely horrendous. The amount of build up to this series in terms of time and preparation and we're being forced to sit through this. It's a shit-show watching eleven of the most impatient men in the country try to massage their egos by smashing competent Australian bowlers through the covers instead of waiting for the bad ball.

Once they made their 1st innings score then we were never going to win this game, all we had to do was bat 4-5 sessions and play for the draw. Some absolutely ridiculous shot selection.

Just wait until you see the modes of dismissal.

Wow. No spine, no guts, no application. 3 strawberry floating caught and bowled, the rest bowled. Hand your testicles over at the end of the match, because you play like you've got no balls.

@ Mini E: Totally agree, I said as much after the India tour IIRC. Unable to grind out overs at a time and work the bowlers into the ground until they are ripe to be taken advantage of. Not even able to simply defend their wicket.
