The Cricket Thread - English cricket dies at the Oval. The body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia

Have to say England bowled very well in the last 15 overs. Really restricted 'em to way under the 330 or so they were on for.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

He bowled reasonably economically but I think they need to drop him for now, his batting is a complete shambles at the moment.

Regards Mo, well, these stats don't help his case. These are the stats of the players genuinely competing for first XI berths as of 01/04/15 (i.e. after the 2015 World Cup debacle). I compiled these yesterday so they don't include today's figures.

Image

You could have a team of Roy, Bairstow, Hales, Root, Morgan, Stokes, Buttler, Woakes, Plunkett, Rashid, Wood.

If Root continues to pick up wickets then Mo's position should seriously be looked at because you could squeeze Roy, Hales and JB in at the top and still play with 6 bowlers. Crazy.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Tremendous. Doesn't replace losing the Ashes but it's still nice to be 3-0 up with 2 to play and the possibility of a whitewash.

Matt Prior just posted a picture of a bank card he found on a train looking for the owner and did the worst possible job covering the account number. Just increased the brightness of the photo to max and have this poor guy's account number and sort code. Prior has now deleted the tweet. What an idiot :fp:

Mr Ingham who travelled on the Gatwick Express probably would be sad if I did this.

Plunkett out of the last 2 ODIs. That's a hit to our whitewash fancies.

Woakes has to be the best all-round number 8 in limited overs cricket at the moment.

This pitch at Jo'burg seems like and absolute minefield.
