Nice to see it’s not just Broaderson who waste the new ball by bowling too short.

I urge everyone to check out Tim Paine's sledge about Kohli.

Yeah that was excellent  - I listened to an interview (more of a phone chat) with the Grade Cricketer podcast which I can’t recommend enough - and he came across pretty well. He’s growing on me.

Really enjoying the Paine v Kohli stuff, despite having seen none of the actual cricket so far...

Where is best to see the highlights of these games? I don't have BT which I think it may be on.

No idea I’m afraid, I’m resorting to Cricinfo. I think the BBC site directs to radio commentary?

Anyway, whoooooo wants more stump mic moments? http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/ ... stump-mics

Root (yet to bat) and Buttler 20* (14) going in the BBL now.

Edit: Out next ball. Sorry Jos mate.

Edit #2: Current England test captain batting with IMO future Aussie captain (Jason Sangha).

Good to see South Africa can still crumble in a session, that'll be useful at the end of this year. 229/3 to 262 all out in 17 overs.

It is Pakistan though. Not sure England have anyone who can harness reverse swing quite as effectively. Jimmy maybe, Stokes is a few notches below.

Pakistan will likely fall in a heap now, of course.

Meanwhile, with the first test of the Windies tour getting underway in less than two weeks, there's still no sign of what the starting eleven will be. I'd be shocked if top 7 wasn't the same that won the third test in Sri Lanka (Jennings, Burns, Bairstow, Root, Stokes, Buttler, Foakes). That lower order though selection is a minefield though...

I've just seen a picture from 2008 of Alistair Cook painting the finishing touches of a set of England whites onto a topless female - probably can't post it on here (not sure what the boobs rules are) but how the hell have I not seen this in ten years of looking at cricket memes on social media? - check out @crickshouts on Twitter to see this. So odd.

I thought it was a painting - nope, actual topless female. :?

Ah well, I never liked Cook as much as some. Admired him as a player, didn’t like him. The whole hunting ‘thing’ left a sour taste in my mouth. Also he’s going to be a bobbins commentator.

Very strange huh?!

Also, in England's tour game:

WI President's XI 203 for 19 (Anderson 4-12, Broad 4-19) drew with England XI 317 for 10 (Root 87)

So strange  - hat trick for Broad.

Warm-up matches these days are either decent players in one of these nonsense matches, or proper first-class games against a third-string FC side. Neither’s good.

I'm not really sure about expectations for this tour. I took a look at their two most recent home series. 1-1 vs. Sri Lanka and 2-0 vs. Bangladesh.

Both of these series came at the backend of the Caribbean summer, whereas this series is being played at the start of their summer. Rainfall is generally slim, it’ll be dry, reasonably cool temperatures, not unlike April/May here. In fact, you have to go back to the last time we toured there to find a home test the WI played at this time of year. At least 80% of the wickets fell to fast bowlers. Spin in the Caribbean seems to be a better weapon toward the end of their summer, much like over here, so I’d advocate playing just the one spinner in the first test.

In terms of the batting, I suppose it is partly dependant on the line up, but I don’t see any reason why England couldn’t post a slew of 400+ scores tbh. I reckon Burns will fare very well.
