3 centuries in 4 innings.

I'm resigned to him getting a recall now. He is one of the ECB's golden boys and they recalled him last year off the back of one solitary century after averaging about 30 for the season. Then he came back for England, guess what, he averaged 20 over the course of his 10 or so innings.

He struggled with the New Zealand and Aussie quicks in English conditions, they really exposed the shortcomings of his technique. What do the ECB think will happen when Rabada, Morkel steam in, and more importantly when Starc, Cummins and Hazlecrack come for him down under?

Literally the only hope we have is either him getting injured or having an absolute nightmare of a season after this round of matches.

Yeah I watched Stokes' a innings yesterday, very impressive. 3 MOTM awards for him in the IPL thus far.

Those kits are hideous.

It's cream and looks really cheap IMO. The last kit looked really smart.

A couple of tremendous articles on Misbah and Younis Khan who are both playing in their final test match.

Younis: http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/ ... 96962.html

Another century for Cook, that's 4 so far this season in all competitions. It bodes well.

Hameed really needs to pull his finger out otherwise he'll be surrendering his place in the test team to Ballance.

Lots of people on cricinfo saying Hales should be dropped for Bairstow. As much as I like Jonny I don't agree - Hales has averaged 48 in ODIs over the last 12 months for England, scoring 3 centuries in the process. The 12 months before that he averaged 40 so not sure why people think he should be dropped. Evidently some clowns out there will hold the fact he refused to tour Bangladesh against him. Only Roy (48.5), Stokes (55.9) and Root (68.7!) have a better average over the last 12 months.

That's mental. One of the reasons that England's ODI team has been so successful recently is that opening partnership of Hales and Roy.

I think for at least some people he has become that guy it's fashionable to say should be dropped in favour of the first reserve without said people actually taking the time to bother looking at his form.

People were also saying this before the Pakistan ODI series last year on the basis that he had a poor test series. He smashed 171 in response. Same people were then crowing again during the WI tour earlier this year and he scored another century. There is just no pleasing some people.

Its like the people that say Root scores too slowly for limited overs cricket. Here's a cricinfo stat table of batsmen with the highest averages over the last 12 months that have batted 10 or more innings. There is nothing wrong with his strike rate especially considering the number of runs he scores on such a regular basis.

I think the side that played yesterday is pretty much as good as we're going to get. Champions trophy is going to be very interesting.

Chuffed we've been able to secure this series with a game to go!

At 120/3 after 25 overs I didn't see us posting anything more than 300, Stokes, Buttler and Ali did brilliantly to get us to 330. Nice to see Stokes with another century, he's slowly becoming more consistent with the bat in ODIs. Buttler was due some runs and it couldn't have been timed any better. Just need Roy to find his touch.

I was quite concerned when I heard Woakes wasn't in the team but to his credit Mark Wood kept things tight throughout. Plunkett had another stormer.

Strong start.

Time for Willey's maiden ODI ton.
