I was going to go Aaron's way because there were customers but by the time I got to the bar with my empty cup and card I just asked her.

She said yes!! I gave her my number and told her to give me a ring/text after work.
I'll keep you updated.

You might have been better off exchanging numbers - girls can sometimes have a thing about calling boys, even if they say they will. They do prefer to be chased/invited out at all stages. You did get her number as well, right?

Anyhoo, well done and best of luck.

Well, not getting her number would have been a schoolboy error. But here's hoping it makes no difference in the long run.

Go team, etc.

Edit - To make it painfully clear. I went out with the girl I've had a thing for (for the last few months) last night. We saw Quantum of Solace. Before the film she was talking about going for a drink afterwards, then she jibbed it off and just had me drive her home. When we got to her house she barely said goodbye. It was lame, considering that less than a month ago she was giving me lingering, hugging goodbyes. Just make your intentions obvious and go for it.

Quantum of Solace can't be THAT bad, surely?

Congrats Doug, nice one.

There was a total fittie at my work a couple of months ago and I was meaning to ask her to go for lunch, but she went on holiday and came back the day before I was going on holiday. That day I was kinda busy and didn't get 'round to asking her to go for lunch (only spoke to her after lunch). That was her last week and she was gone by the time I was back. :fp:

I could kinda tell we got on well, y'know when you can just tell. I also didn't get to speak to her much so probably worked well in the old 'playing hard to get' sort of way..

How awful. I've seen her on Facebook (yep stalker..) but I can't bring myself to add her as it's just desperate.. Again: :fp:

I did make the school boy error of not getting her number, however it counts for nothing as she just sent the first text.

Hell yeah! I feel all giddy. For those who are interested, i'm 21 and I think she's 24ish.

Don't listen to the n00bs, that was never a school boy error, you played it brilliantly Doug. I never send the first text. Ever. It has backfired...once. In many years, from many girls. It puts you in charge, you see. It says 'I like you, I struck up conversation, if you want a bit more (which you obviously do) heres my number'. What it doesn't say is 'I really like you, can I have your number so I can chase you until you eventually put out or you know, don't...?'. The worst that can happen is she doesn't text back in which case she's obviously a bitch and not worth your time.

Anyway, well played Doug...and she's older! GET IN!

Yeah, I was always under the impression that you should give your number as opposed to the other way around.

Anyway, good job.
