I do hope Bolt can break a WR again before he retires. It always looked like he has had more up his sleeve.

Charles van Commenee is to step down as UK Athletics head coach after the team failed to meet his own medal target at London 2012.

The 54-year-old Dutchman will leave when his contract expires in December.

Van Commenee said he would quit unless the team hit a target of at least eight medals in athletics including a minimum of one gold.

Despite being widely praised, the team fell two short of that overall, though four of the six medals were gold.

More to follow.

Silly Billy, as far as I can tell the team performed better than anyone dared hoped.

Anyone watching the Anniversary Games (Diamond League)?

Half decent line up and good to see the stadium packed again.

Also, World Championships in a couple of weeks

Yes, it's a bit hit and miss with stars but the 100m A class should hopefully be good.

100m semis on now, would be a great result to get a Brit in the final but I can't see it happening.

Shara Procta looks good to get a dubious medal for GB in the Long Jump this evening too.

Very surprised at Dasaolu, great to have a Brit in a major 100m final again and a young one at that.

Ohorogu also her usual self just breeding down the final straight and into the final.

Shocking how empty the stadium is given the 100m final is in an hour.

Dasaolu seems to blow hot and cold. Good run in the semi but awful final. You could say the rain affected him but it didn't stop bolt.

Experience will help that, though. When nervous and adrenaline are racing through a sprinter, things like heavy rain can affect a younger runner far more than someone who's going into the race as supreme favourite.

100m sprinting is at least 30% mental, I'd say, and consistency and controlling nerves will only come later on as he develops. I think he has a lot of promise.
