Amazing new WR in the women's hurdles just now. The American who did it won't be going to the Olympics either

30 mins until Bolt.

Saw that, it was the most perfect hurdling I think I've ever seen. Incredible run.

Only just seen the end of the 10,000m. That part when Mo nearly tripped  He beautifully controlled the end of the race. It's going to be a real shame when he finishes running as I find distance running boring unless there's someone to cheer for. The lesser distance races are far more watchable even if there's no one of note taking part.

The boos when Gatlin one

I think bolt should have tried the 200m instead of the 100m. He's looked so slow out the blocks but still clearly has the later pace.

I know. I didn't realise we had an athletics thread. We've all been posting in the Rio thread. This one makes more sense though.

Our guy (Prescod) has been slow to start all weekend but really has a lot of pace at the end.

Yeah, he's shown some real promise at these championships. I hope he can build on it, because he could achieve some great things. He even had a great start in the semi.

That cheating banana split Gatlin has undermined years of work to clean up sprinting in athletics. What an example for young sprinters. Back to square one.

Why is Gatlin even allowed to compete? Two-times drug cheat winning gold at the World Championship surely just sends the message that cheating is okay and you might eventually prosper even if caught. He'll still be looked back on as a drug cheat though before anybody thinks about his medals. Regardless of last night, Bolt will be looked back on as the greatest sprinter, so doesn't matter too much that he didn't win.

Coe complaining when he has the power to fix it and could've avoided this (or at least had Coleman win gold and a new 'rising star', which would've looked better). Athletics. :fp:
