Mo Fatah, amazing again. What a superstar! Can't ever recall there being a British (and very few world) athlete who has dominated their speciality as much as he has the past 2 / 3 years. Long may King Mo rule 8-)

Also a brilliant run from Gemili this evening, absolutely shattered his personal best today and has made a bold move towards being one of the best 200m runners in the world. Also fantastic to hear him promoting athletics afterwards, came across as a really genuine and awesome guy. Don't expect him to medal but would be fantastic to see another run around the 19 / 20 sec mark.

Edit: Shame about Alison Felix

I think I remember reading recently that mo may quit track athletics after the worlds to concentrate on the marathon.

People calling for Mo Farah to be knighted. :dread:

Glad to see Gemili doing well, hope he has a great race in the final.

It's inevitable given that he is arguably the greatest British track and field athlete of all time. What he has accomplished in the last few years is remarkable and so I don't have any issue with calls for him to be knighted. However, I don't think these knighthoods and such should be handed out to sports athletes until they are formally retired. I don't see Mo running for longer than another 5 years so he wouldn't have to wait long anyway if that were the case.

Hoping Gemili can run under 20 seconds again tonight. If he can do that then I reckon he gets a medal.

Yeah, this.

Generally I think they're handed out a bit willy-nilly but given what other sportsmen and women have gotten them for you can't deny Farah deserves it.

Gutted I missed Mo yesterday - also apparently I missed this:

I tuned in today and I gather she's ditched the rainbow nails today. Still, it's a brave thing to do. Personally I think it would be great to see more athletes follow the example.

edit: OK I hope I don't look like a twat saying this, but it's like there's some sort of rule in women's high jump where you have to be beautiful to take part.

Why is that?

I must admit I had no idea who she was but I just looked it up.

An Aussie sportsperson? Well yeah.

Lovely folks until you put them in a sport

Watch her interview with the BBC after her race, was rather catty to say the least.

Good run by Gemili, he should take a lot of confidence from running more or less 20sec flat for the last three races in a row, shame he was just pipped to a medal but that shouldn't really matter. Hopefully everyone can be on song for the 4x100 tomorrow.

Always have this kind of face when I'm watching the relay :dread:

Our women have done great qualifying, they were just pipped at the line. Nigeria dropped the baton :dread:

Mens 4x100m qualifying now, Gemili isn't in it. Please. Don't. Drop. The. Baton. :dread: :dread: :dread:

Love seeing a middle distance runner just go for it from the start, I hate it when they walk round 90% of the way and sprint the last 50 metres only to finish in a time that everyone in the field can do easily.

Great effort by the American woman in that 800m, gutted she just missed out on a bronze.

Yeah I really felt for her, she made a great gap. It's not much fun to watch everyone take it easy while they wait for someone to go for it, shame it didn't pay off for her.

FUUUUUUUCK RELAY HOLY gooseberry fool :o :o :o :o
Ach blimey. We did good there, just didn't have the same pace on that last leg. Haley's abs of strawberry floating steel.

Why did GB persist with the same girl on the final leg of that relay final as they did in the heat? In both races she was nowhere near good enough.

Oh, they've just explained that she was subbed in. Fair enough.

That looked an incredibly slow final leg, should have had our hurdler in there. Changes were good but if some of your runners can't get under 12 seconds you're never really going to have a hope.

The German relay team really look like a group of evil villains

Come on GB. Chambers did such a great finish in the heat.
