Too bad such a thing us impossible right?

You brought up the Australian system, have a look into it, it's far more troubling than just being an "underfunded prison".

If people come to Europe and are accepted as immigrants or asylum seekers, why shouldn't they be allowed to be "just let go"? Fleeing persecution is not a crime and the vast vast vast majority are decent people that are just looking for safety.

Of course you have a tiny minority that are not decent people. I'd agree they should be locked up/deported. Mistakes will always be made, people will slip through cracks and bad gooseberry fool will happen. The fear that seems to grip so many people is misfounded though, you are not very likely to be hurt or killed by an asylum seeker, to throw away our humanity (as per the Aussie system) out of cowardly paranoia is far worse (imo) than accepting a tiny risk that a bad guy will slip through.

No one is saying they shouldn't be let go if they are accepted as refugees, I was saying they should be held until their status is determined. This guy arrived and was let go, he then committed arson, then got sent to prison and was let go again! Then they determined he wasn't really a refugee and surprise surprise he didn't just pack his bags and go home.

If you show up on someones doorstep I don't think it's really unreasonable for them to try and determine just who you are first before they let you in to their home.

Seems like an awful lot of money to do it, something that no country has right now. All to possibly catch 1 in thousands upon thousands of people.

And where do you stop, a lot of terrorism is home grown anyway.

Rightey, read some articles first.

this OZ system is apparently spending ~350,000 p/a on each refugee/immigrant whatever, all while running an awful system where they cant even talk to the immigrants (apparently using google translate in a lot of cases). we do have a better, currently existing system which is still pretty inhumane (immigrant detention centres) so im not sure what you're asking for?

Not sure if domestic or otherwise...

BBC News wrote:"Multiple people" have been shot dead by a lone gunman at Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida, say officials.

The airport said there was an "ongoing incident" at the baggage claim area in Terminal 2.

There were several people dead and one person in custody, Broward Sheriff's office said in a tweet.

Hundreds of people were standing on the tarmac as dozens of police cars and ambulances rushed to the scene.
Police received a call just before 1300 local time (1800 GMT) about shots fired at Terminal Drive.

Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said in a tweet: "I'm at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Shots have been fired. Everyone is running."

A Miami TV station tweeted footage claiming to be filmed from inside the baggage terminal.

The video shows several injured people laying on the floor, as witnesses shout for medical help.

Florida Governor Rick Scott is travelling to the airport to be briefed by law enforcement.

Why are you picking me out?

I understand that your white supremacist nature makes it hard to keep your erection down whenever a brown guy does a bad thing. That's obvious. No need to flame me in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy though.

For what it's worth Nick,I couldn't give a shite whether the murdering scum is white, black, brown, purple or blue. I couldn't give a gooseberry fool if they kill for Jesus, Allah, the NRA, aliens or because girls won't talk to them.

All loss of human life in a murder is tragic, whatever the "cause".

my gut feeling is that it will be other Muslims who carried out this attack. Which is why the authorities are currently trying to keep their background quiet.

You might be right.

http://montreal.ctvnews.ca/shooting-at- ... -1.3262477
One witness described the suspects as two masked men with a Quebecois accent who shouted Allahu Akhbar. He says a bullet just missed him. Inside the mosque people were reading the Koran.

Not confirmed, afaik.

There is always way too much speculation and bullshit flying around after a terrorist attack.
