Well that's just nonsense.

Okay, maybe it's not worse than Big Freeze, but it is utter shite.

I thought it was fine. After Psycho, Dead Inside and Mercy I was pleasantly surprised with the album. Probably about the same quality as The Resistance, maybe even a little better. Ended up enjoying The Globalist, which given it was being touted as the sequel to Citizen Erased I assumed would be an utter wreck. Even the final track was great, and not anything like Muse have ever done. If you'd told me there would be a song with just the three of them singing like a choir I'd have laughed hysterically.

World's biggest Muse fan right here, folks. Waits all this time for a leak, and when he finally gets his hands on it? Eh, I'll listen to it later on

The world's biggest Muse fan should be willing to wait and pay for the album, not download it off the internet. :x

The trio of Reapers, The Handler, and Defector is definitely the highlight of the album for me. Might even go as far as to say the first two are up there with top tier Muse.

First listen done. Dead Inside, Psycho, Reapers, The Handler (What a strawberry floating track) and Defector are the stand out tracks without doubt. The rest is a little all over the place but then that's not really unusual for a Muse album.

Can't say I was mega impressed with 'Aftermath' or 'The Globalist', the latter sounding like a mishmash of several different Muse songs mixed together, even the piano outro was recycled. I'll certainly be giving the album many many more listens so these are just initial thoughts.

At the moment I'd say it's on par with their last albums, with the exception of 'The Handler', that track is one of the best tracks they've made in years.

What's the leak quality like? Is it a shitty Transcode labelled as 320, or an actual proper 320 jobbie?

I really can't decide if Revolt is terrible or upliftingly great :?

I can't help but get swept up in it so I'm gonna say the latter.

Could not be more disappointed in The Globalist. From about 4.30 mins in when it goes heavy it is strawberry floating AMAZING. Imagine that live, it would be on par with like Assassin. Then it just drops into what sounds like a first shitty demo of the beginning of united states of eurasia. What the hell :| :| :|

The main issue with the album is defo lyrics. It's like they let Matt indulge his crazy conspiracy end of the world psycho gooseberry fool too much.

And it's a shame because there is some really really good parts in this album. The Handler 8-) 8-) 8-) most of Reapers as well. It just feels like it needed someone to help iron out some of the little flaws.

After listening to it a few times now, do you know what, I really like this album. Drill Sargeant can strawberry float right off as can the one that sounds like queen, plus that choir gooseberry fool at the end, so if I delete those 3 from my phone then I can have a nice rocking muse EP.

I also found out what the max volume is on the car stereo this morning playing Psycho, tried to turn it up further and there was nothing more to give, the whole thing was thumping :datass:

Pretty much in agreement, I like the arrangement at the end but it's not really a song as such. I'll give it another listen sometime before my deezer sub runs out. Not sure I'll bother with a CD again.

Thought I'd break out the guitar tonight and try to learn some of these songs.

Anyone who's tried playing muse songs will know they're bloody complicated and really hard so it's a nice surprise to find these are right at my level (apart from the solos and tapping :dread: )

Learned the handler, psycho and reapers. God strawberry floating damn nailing those riffs :datass:
