I'm probably unlikely to ever buy this, but I hope it gets given away on PS plus one day, just so I can see if it's really as good as you say Jawa

Tbh, it's unlikely that any game could live up to the billing that I give Mad Max  .

After taking a break from gaming and streaming - only for a week or so and, uhm, I still played a bit of Baba - I needed something to ease back in. Mad Max was that game. I streamed on Thurs and Fri, starting the game fresh, and it has been great fun!

I think that I'm gonna try and 100% all of the locations and collectibles; probably not the Death Runs (time trial races) as I found them to be super tough last time out... but, hey, we'll see.

In yesterday's stream I was stumped in finding the last item of scrap and the last insignia (baddie's sign) in a particular camp. I spent a long time looking (and thus boring the viewers  ) but came up short. Today I returned and found them pretty swiftly; they were in a wee room under a ramp that I just hadn't spotted. I've also driven to Jeet's base and so I can start building camp items and completing his missions. The controls are starting to click with me and the feel of the game is returning... the wasteland experience is back!

Gonna stream again in a short while; will post when live.

Well, after another lengthy gap, the current heatwave made me want to try out the game again.

Considering it's nearly seven years old now, it still looks so good!

I saw this is Verified on Steam Deck so I might also give it another play.

I inadvertently combined the thread title with your username in the "last post by" field and read the title of the game as "Mild Max".

It's a game I re install and do a bit more in every few months.

Just a brilliant game with so much content and an open world that feels like no other. So empty and dangerous. Also the shotgun kill close up gut shot never gets old.

Wish my image sig would work

I couldn't agree more, Godzilla! I love the use of the DualShock's speaker for re-loading and firing, too; it feels so crunchy.

Back in 2016 when I completed the game, I think that I was pretty close to getting the Platinum trophy; I even did the "find every location and collect every object" thing  . It was just the optional races/speed runs that I didn't do as I wasn't so keen on 'em.

I'm hoping to do this all again now :toot: .

If you'd posted one day later it would have been 3 years to the day since your last post.

True, Trelliz! Three years since I last played the masterpiece! It sure was about time that I ventured back out there!

Jawa will be delighted to discover I've put in 55 hours of Mad Max on Steam Deck over the past couple weeks. Don't think I'd have the patience if it was on the big screen but its the perfect mindlessly loot while watching TV game. I've not even really dinged the story that hard I've been working on clearing off all the open world icons.

Even at 60fps on Series X I just could NOT get into this at all.

Erm, I think it's really good, VERY good in fact.

Jawa

On topic- I thought it was fine but overrated.

I've done everything now bar all the death runs, just a handful of achievements left.

It is fully a 7/10 game but if you know what you're getting into it's a good time.
