Plus I think the Death Run starting places also become fast travel points once you complete them, but I can't remember.

I think that's probably so you don't go completely mad having to drive all the way back every time you re-try a failed attempt.

Reading this thread has spurred me to get back on with this, so glad I
Is there a trick to getting fuel into the viewpoint balloons? I carry a can over to the pump but don't get a prompt or anything.

If the balloon needs fuel, you have to carry the canister to the basket itself, rather than the generator thing it's attached to.

I've encountered one balloon so fa that was stuck in the air, and I then had to fill the generator to bring it back down.

Been recently going through this, I'm probably 15 hours in and haven't even done act 2!

I got completely sucked into the open world stuff, I've done everything in the first area, so Jeet's area is now 0, Some of the side stuff is a lot of fun, once you get to level 4 harpoon more of the car combat stuff renders useless as all you need to do is pull a wheel off their ride.

Not sure if I'll platinum this, looks like a few awfully awkward trophies, and not sure if I'll fully complete the map I'm sure the grind will get on my nerves eventually.

That was how I approached the game, Jay; I fully completed each area (all missions, all collectables) before moving on to the next.

I think I plugged in over a hundred hours in total although, to be fair, twenty of those were probably spent mucking around with photo mode :-).

Yeah your pictures in the Ps4 group made me what to check this out. I do have a soft spot for the big open world games.

Got this off PSN on Thursday. Pretty cracking so far, love the look of it and all the characters are great. Only downers are I'm dying a lot and ammo is very hard to come by and seems necessary a lot of the time.

Do the gunpowder/arsenal mission for Jeet asap, so you can instantly refill ammo everytime you return to his hideout.

When you are starting out, bullets are at a real premium. You should rely on using your fists for the bulk of your battles!

Spolier about other weapon options: The harpoon gun in your car is a tremendous option for dealing with enemies; whether they're on foot, in other vehicles or protecting camps. Get used to picking 'em off before you even get out of your car. The harpoon gun becomes more powerful as you progress and upgrade it :-).

Spoiler about bullets later in the game: Once you start building up the base(s), you'll get to the stage where you build a bullet maker and get an automatic top-up whenever you return to base :toot:.

Oh, and in case anyone hasn't realised, this game has one of the best photo modes in videogaming. You can pan and move around the scenes and characters at any time for huge distances; it's easy to get some fantastic shots that incorporate the stunning apocalyptic environments. Occassionally a bug appears in the PS4 version which only allows the camera to move about two feet away from your character. If this happens, simply return to your base(s) and it'll be reset the next time you leave.

Spoiler about the photo mode (?!?): The photo mode is incredibly useful when playing. When you approach a camp - or even just want to look around a corner without actually going there - just turn on the photo mode and move and look around :-). It *is* a kinda cheat, but the game is so huge that this helps!.

You know, having watched the Mad Max: Fury Road film recently, my desire to replay this game sometime has ramped up. Maybe in a year or two I'll re-start the adventure!

Looks like someone has set Jawa's spoiler sensitivity a bit too high.

So I finished it this evening because I got tired of just driving around going after collectables when there didn't seem to be any real need to.

Looking back its provided a nice satisfying three weeks of fun, absolutely worth the £15 I got it for on PSN a perfectly solid 8/10 game if you ask me. My only real gripes I guess would be that it chugs quite a lot which I would have hoped would have been patched out by now and that it never really throws any mad shite at you despite having the constituent parts to do so. The dusters approaching were visually spectacular, throw that together with a convoy take down and some bonkers metal music and you're bloody laughing but that never really happened. Still it's a great game to switch your brain off for and dick about for a few hours in an evening, highly recommended.

My brother played this and was a bit critical of it. Can't say I disagree with any of the things he was ragging on, but I still enjoyed this one a lot.

Needs a sequel.

I know they're different developers and what have you, but this game would be great with the nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor. Instead of captains, you'd have other drivers in the desert to chase down and kill.

I recently picked this up again and did a few missions. Map screen and mission way points are still poorly done but the game is brilliant. I paid full price and well worth every penny. I've fully maxed the character, still a few car upgradedes to go. Exploding harpoons are my weapon of choice.

Wish my image sig would work

I'm glad that you guys are enjoying the game! I think it's terrific; I barely ever stick with a game but this had me gripped and I completed it* :toot: .

* Completed as in finished the storyline, found all locations, collected all items and completed all missions. I would have loved to have tried to gain my first ever Platinum trophy but I find the car race sections to be pretty frustrating. I am thinking of starting the game afresh and playing through the adventure again :) .

It feels good that some folk are still discovering this game. Beards :toot: .
