She wasn't saying she was a monster because she was infertile. She was saying she was a monster because of the steps that had been taken to remove human elements of herself, to make her a better assassin. Irreversible choices had been made to turn into a cold-blood killing machine and that's why she felt like a monster. Not because she couldn't have kids which misses the point of what she was saying in my opinion.

For the record though, I don't think that scene, or any of the Black Widow/Hulk storyline was handled particularly well. It was one of the weakest aspects of the film.

How did the hide the zucchini line not remind anyone else of the incredibly NSFW gif of The Hulk and Black Widow? :lol:

The worst part of it all is how they seem to be completely disregarding Whedon's history of being one of the only high profile writers of strong female characters on tv way back when. Female leads might not be where they are now without him.

Christ anyone else listened to the whedon interview on empire spoiler podcast? Can clearly tell he was fed up of certain high marvel people interfering in his movie.

According to Whedon, Marvel was not fond of the act two breather wherein the team takes refuge at Hawkeye's farm; on the other hand, the studio was "quite adamant" about adding in the scenes wherein Thor and Dr. Selvig visit a mystical Norse cave pool.

"The dreams [brought to life by Scarlet Witch's powers] were not an executive favorite either -- the dreams, the farmhouse, these were things I fought to keep," Whedon said. "With the cave, it really turned into: they pointed a gun at the farm's head and said, 'Give us the cave, or we'll take out the farm,' -- in a civilized way. I respect these guys, they're artists, but that's when it got really, really unpleasant."

When viewed in larger context of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the cave sequence ties "Age of Ultron" to the rest of the mythology since it reveals the existence and importance of the Infinity Stones to Thor, and eventually the Avengers. Whedon also revealed that additional footage was shot at the cave, but the scenes were removed after they tested poorly with audiences.

The director also revealed that he wanted to put both Captain Marvel and Spider-Man in the movie, but Carol Danvers had not been cast, and Marvel's deal with Sony to share the wall-crawler was not finalized in time. "I would have put both of them [in Ultron], but neither of the deals were made.

Nobody did. As someone said earlier, I could sense everyone's confusion in the cinema. I bet you couldn't find a living soul that new what that was about. At least not on a first viewing anyway.

Yea, there must have been a better way for them to inform the Avengers about the Infinity Stones. That scene was nonsense.

What was confusing about that scene?

It was just completely disconnected from anything else that was happening. It came out of nowhere and served no purpose other than to arm Thor with an exposition bomb for later on. It was completely inorganic, and was a borderline deus ex machina for how to get that info on to the screen.

Scarlet Witch makes him hallucinate so he decides to go for a swim and somehow gets from this that the Infinity Stones are going to be a problem.

I've read more Marvel comics than most people who will see that film and I didn't know what was going on there.

Didn't he get Selvig to help him locate that special pool which gave him that vision. I thought it was pretty straightforward

I thought it was cut pretty badly, but I got the general gist of it.

Yea, the act of him finding the pool wasn't the issue. The problem is what was the pool? What do they do? How does Thor even know they exist? Why does Sevig know about them? They weren't in either of the Thor movies. We've never seen nor heard of them until literally the moment before Thor gets in one. Why do they provide him with all the exposition? How does he now know about all the infinity stones?

It's like everything in the 2nd and 3rd acts of the movie; everything moves from A to B with relative efficiency but everything is written for the sake of momentary plot convenience rather than overall narrative coherency.

I convinced myself the pool was in Thor 2 because it was presented in such a way, with so little information, I thought they were revisiting something.

I also thought the birthing pool was pointless.

Question: why could Vision pick up Thor's hammer?
