So ahead of Infinity War being released in the next few days, here's a thread where those who've watched it (or those who just don't care) can discuss the movie openly, without worry.

Naturally if you want to avoid Spoilers, you are in the wrong thread and you should leave now.

Why not pop into the general MCU thread, where you can have a (Hopefully) spoiler free discussion?

I repeat...

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Not a chance in hell it's in there. Not like that anyway. I could maybe see a random Helicopter in the movie with a tail number that spells Thanos though (TH4N05 possibly).

EDIT: It would be amazing if it was there though.

The Thanos Copter would be genuinely amazing. This would be 10/10 best film ever with that in it.

Hitting this up tonight, can't wait.

I had to take a gooseberry fool mid film and came back as they was with Red Skull. Was there any explanation what he was doing there?

He was someone who tried to collect the stones before, got rejected/banished and now watches over something he can never possess

Didn’t think so but missed it.

Despite some bits being predictable (Loki dying, Thanos winning etc) that was still surprising at some points. They hadn’t given any hints that Thor/Groot/Rabbit would make it to Wakanda had they?

Loved that they showed Thanos using the powers (with coloured effects) rather than just ‘he got really strong’

That was really good, lived up to the hype and my man Steve Rodgers survived  even though they insisted that this and the next are seperate, this one will live or die on the next one meeting this quality.

I didn’t quite understand why Strange gave up the time stone. It didn’t make sense in the parts leading up to it and I thought they would have used that to undo what happened in this movie. Now that I’ve said that maybe that’s why they did it to avoid lazy reset button writing.

Does Ms/Captain Marvel have time travel powers? If Fury SOSd her, I’m wondering if that device can send messages in time as it looked like an advanced pager with all the extra bits on it. It would be awkward if she is within the 50% of living beings that turned to ash :shifty:

Lucky that Red Skull doesn’t need Weaving, it really sounded like him though. I’m guessing the guy credited is the voice as it looked like a CGI face and not prosthetics. Talking of CGI, this movie had maybe the best I’ve ever seen. CGI often looks ropey in Marvel movies so maybe they’ve been taking budget from the previous movies to pay for this one.

It’s been a long time since I saw my theatre to busy. All three showings were booked up and it took ages to get back out to be lobby and out of the car park

It’s possible that the only scenario that they will win is if Dr Strange gives up the stone as he did look through over 14 million timelines.

Thor’s fairly been through the mill in the last couple of films eh? Parents - DEAD. Sister - DEAD. Childhood friends - DEAD. Brother - DEAD. Loyal subjects - DEAD. :dread:

Eye - DEAD.

Anyway I thought there were a few moments in the film that will absolutely traumatise younger kids - Spider-Man basically dies in pain and fear, for example. Obviously that’ll be reversed, but still it wasn’t fun to watch. Having Scarlet Witch kill Vision only for Thanos to basically laugh at her, return him to life and then kill him again in front of her was also quite hideous.

It’s a great movie, but only if you know the series. There aren’t any introductions to existing characters and not should there be - the MCU has earned a level of confidence and assurance that the audience has seen the preceding films in the series - but I imagine that to the neutral viewer it’s completely impenetrable.
