This is probably the oddest AY? game I've played. Couldn't really get into it but in hindsight was still a great game with interesting mechanics that all worked well. The whole alphabet list put me off it quite a bit - interest I never fully regained - but as it didn't have a massive positive or negative impact on either side (overall), wasn't actually as game-breaking as I initially believed.

Congrats to BID0 too on effectively winning the Humans the game, excellent stuff. Can't really take any credit myself, seeing as my biggest contribution was killing our best chance of swinging the game in our favour. Really not sure why Errkal completely outed himself yesterday, and even more confused with the fellow Infected for failing to save him. Bizarre.

Also a massive thanks for Moggy for running it. As I've mentioned, the whole list thing was unfortunate but didn't actually ruin the game which was good. I'll apologise again for initially moaning too. I think I was expecting a AYA? game in which it stuck to the basic structure and we figured out people's roles based on good detective work rather than a tiny slip-up from the GM, hence my gripe with people getting excited over potentially winning after noticing a mistake in the initial set-up. As it turned out the game was played in a different way, but it didn't necessarily make the game itself any 'worse' - just different.

GG everyone!

I liked how different it was and how it evolved as each day passed. It certainly made being a regular human more interesting. The format would work really well with an even bigger group of people and allowing infected to infect other people (maybe only let a regular infected infect one time). Maybe for the forums 10th anniversary? The AYAModerator game was huge, would be cool to see that player count based off this rule set.

And is that HSH quote real?   possibly the funniest thing I've ever read, which is ironic.

I think the real MVPs were Dan (?) for spotting the alphabetical list, although people got hung up on that more times than they probably should have. And also for spotting the Total Recall theme early.
Karl, Cora and Falsey for that first early play.
That's not a growth on his day as leader.
And finally mcjihge2 for trusting me in those last few days in private messages as we tried to figure out some kind of lead with the tiny amount of information we could scrape together from hearsay

Yeah, it's from a couple of years ago. Can't even remember what was being discussed but irony on that level couldn't go unnoticed.

I'm very sad to hear another Infected Community Manager ( ;) ) wasn't selected after I died. Maybe Errkal didn't have time to engage with that idea properly? It's a shame, though. By that point we knew there weren't any 'mole' roles so Errkal could have really just come forward to everyone himself.

I was infected very late on, wasn't contacted until a couple of days later, didn't realise none of the other infected didn't know who Errkal was!

I was going for a quite masses thing, I didn't really want to mess with votes especially after getting 2 infects a day, I figured I could just quietly build and contact a few people.

Also I was slightly worried about contacting because everyone was switched against their will so may not be overly happy with it so may report me in and take the loose for their old side to win sort of thing.

Sadly it all unravelled really fast at the end!

If everyone was in contact we could easily have swyaed the thread in any direction we wanted though.

Yeah I was surprised that us Infected weren't in touch. Karl was a go between but died soon after. It meant I had no idea how to act in thread so could have been accusing fellow infected!

I felt disconnected from the game by the end

I think we were cautious at first because Moggy had put so much emphasis on the "the alpha doesn't have to contact everyone!" element, and that made me very suspicious, because I couldn't think of a sane reason why the alpha wouldn't want to command his legion! It was OK earlier on but by the end you all really ought to have been in touch.

I'm sure the Infected's could have swayed the votes for the last two days in order to see it out until tomorrow when they would have won numerically if they were all in contact. The amount of votes vs the amount of non voters probably would have swayed things and tided them over for the win.

I SURVIVED. Sorry I did nothing again, I thnk next time this is on I'm going to have to resist saying yes and then not contributing, It's not really fair on the others.

Oh well, it's the first one I've survived through to the end :D

I dont think that was the case. There was some good detective work and rallying going on on the human side. That last lynch vote was 7-1. Humans still had the numbers to spot such a suspicious swing.

Yes, but I think they could have at least lasted a few days with a brute force voting attack. They only needed, what, 4 days? It certainly would have been a lot closer.

If they had brute forced the vote yesterday then they would have removed BID0 and added two more to their numbers. I think the infected would have been pretty unstoppable then.
