I love how people are still bashing on about Sykes. Just waiting for the moment when someone asks if his role has been confirmed and what it is. Again.

When in doubt, hang a mod!

I love that the Space Marine role is still causing such confusion.

And none of them picked up on the Arnie photo I posted yesterday. :x

Hauser then.

One of the players had the role of Douglas Quaid, it was basically a vigi role but he would need to be attacked by the infected before he would "activate". He would then go medieval on their asses (nobody has attacked him so far though!). The opening of the vial yesterday has upgraded him to Hauser, he is very overpowered but it seemed only fair once the infected were allowed to infect two per night.

Oh boy. Can't wait until they choose to infect him.

Incidentally I learnt of the Douglas Quaid role during the first couple of days - the number of laughs that gave me was quite surprising

Hauser is immune from infection so he only needs to avoid being lynched/vigi/infected scanned and he is safe.

It's not in my rules for the game but I am really tempted to bring back MechaPutin. I miss the crazy bastard.

strawberry floating MechaPutin.

Out of interest how long did you spend planning everything in this game?

Don’t diss MechaPutin, he will hear you and come back to ask you more questions on Gladiators… ;)

I have had the basic idea for ages of a game where instead of people getting killed they change sides. Actually knuckling down and working it out took a few weeks, although I wasn’t there constantly working on it. MechaPutin was quite a late addition to the cast of characters, but the idea of another infected base being used as a game was there from the start.

The difficulty was what questions to ask. It couldn’t be anything too easy to Google and so I settled on finding some Pointless questions and answers but framing them to the player as Family Fortunes. I didn’t think there was much chance of somebody Googling Family Fortunes and then finding the Pointless questions!

It's incredibly frustrating to watch; I know the infected have all the information they need to work out who Hauser is - they knew about Quaid - and quietly off him, but I don't think they're going to join the dots.

Is he down as Quaid or Douglas Quaid?

Surely he's spottable just from the player list alone?

Therefore, using the infamous alphabet theory:

If it's Douglas Quaid it must be BID0, if it's just Quaid then it's Diabolito?

Well, I was speaking in generalities 'just in case', but bugger it ;) - yeah, it's BID0!

This subforum is a "safe space". We do not mention the alphabet in here...

Interesting. I wonder how he'll play the game now he's been powered up. He hasn't played a very strong game so far (in-thread at least) - he couldn't fathom that special roles would be retained once infected (despite the evidence of vigilantes gunning for immunes), and he thought it was a bad idea to kill the vigilantes off. I was hoping it'd be Diabolito - not necessarily because of the way he's played this game, but simply for the entertainment value he'd provide based on the way he's played previous games.

Karl, do you know what the current maths is regarding the humans' situation? Because if they're now seeing two players infected per night, even if they lynch one and scan one infected a day that still only keeps them level, and increases the % of the overall active players that are infected. Meaning that an infected victory gets closer and closer, quicker and quicker - surely, with the odds as they are at this point, they have to try and land the alpha, or it's game over?

What I would really like to see one day is a game where Falsey is the Alpha. I am not sure I have ever seen him in a "bad guy" role, it would be really funny to watch him lynching Staydead while being the main evil guy. :slol:

Off the top of my head - the maths isn't good for the humans. They have about a week, I think. I would dig out the simulator for one last run, but, err, I can't be bothered. Maybe later this evening. ;)

I would be amazed if the probability of an infected victory is any less than 80%.

He was a third-party role in AYAW15 but DMaLpha killed him on the second day. Falsey's role meant he could have won the game by himself!

I had that role once. Then I was killed day 2 by aaronayl being a cock.
