THIS causes me to well up. Especially when Pavarotti sung it.

The soundtrack to Total Annihilation rapes everything in this thread. mummy strawberry floating epic. They need to orchestrate the thing live just for me.

THIS is my favourite, it'd be awesome played in the end battle in a remake of the movie Dune:

This is the best music to be played showing the evolution of a civilisation in a trailer, a movie or whatever which then leads to epic warfare:

Sardauker attack the Fremen, Fremen fight back:

Man the TA soundtrack and Dune go hand in hand in my head.

Probably a common choice, but this is my favourite:

Infinitely better than most of what gets 'composed' these days, and it was written over 300 years ago. Amazing.

I like it too, but why does the youtube vid have mozart's picture on it?

Anyways here's another piece that's similar to the one you posted

You beat me to it, NSM!

Anyways, I think Moonlight Sonata would have been my chosen piece, had someone else not gone for it. It definitely a contender for my favourite composition, ever.

I'll contribute Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No. 1, which I think is beyond words:

Frederic Chopin's Nocturne In E Flat Major, Op.9 No.2:

Right, a proper one (albeit in a comedy styling) - won't embed which is a bit of a bitch...

Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' is the most perfect piece of art. Ever. The most amazing creation of humanity.
