Had a good run with Chequered Deck last night, so I'm posting the seed here as I'm pretty sure someone cleverer than me could do something smart with it (I played it on Red Stake). Got a foil Space Joker in an early shop, then the first Spectral Pack gave me an Ankh, so I cloned the Space Joker. This meant I was able to level up Flushes quickly and inexpensively without using up two slots for "nothing" (as both gave chips). Then, the second Spectral Pack gave an Ouija, which converted my full hand to Aces!

You'd think from there it would be an easy win, but it was a struggle, as I didn't find any good Jokers for x Multipliers until late on, and even then it wasn't a sure thing. Rerolls on Ante 6 or 7 gave me Campfire, which isn't ideal but got me over the line, especially once combined with a Ramen Joker found shortly after. Ante 8 Boss Blind was Verdant Leaf so I had to ditch the Space Jokers by that point.

I was finding I kept ignoring chips and going all in on mult, which was silly, really, because the two numbers are *multiplied together*. I’m still chasing my first black deck win, so last night I had a run that was a lot of chips boosts and only mult additions (no multipliers showed up!). I made it to ante 7 when the blind was the wall and I didn’t have the option to reroll or the legs to make the target (though I came very close). It was a really different run, and a lot of fun. One joker gave mult based on cash I had, so I just grinded for loads of money, didn’t buy any packs or planets really at all, didn’t skip any blinds unless the tag paid money. Another gave mult based on how many times I played a hand so by the end I was running around with $250 in the bank and getting 40k+ for a lvl 1 high card Ace, which is ludicrous.

This was definitely true! I've managed to get up to (I think?) Blue Stake using Checkered Deck. However...

I'm not anywhere close. My best single hand is about 3 million. That's with me making everything as easy as possible. Chequered Deck, White Stake. Level 20 Flush, Banner for extra chips, Supernova to up the mult, Constellation x3+, Blackboard x3, Card Sharp x3. And that's nowhere near 100m!

I've seen clips online of decks made entirely of Steel Kings with Red Seals, with Mime, Baron, Sock & Baskin, etc. so as to prompt a chain of triggers. The thing is, I can't fathom how to even begin to build such a Deck, without restarting endlessly to get insane luck. Also, if you did it bit by bit, the combination of elements (assuming you did find them in the necessary order) wouldn't be enough to get you past the blinds initially. And, I don't think the game gives you enough rounds to feasibly construct this! (Again, unless you have ridiculous luck.) So there must be another way... right?

I actually can't remember now I think I had the ancient joker (a specific suit each round will gain a x1.5 multiplier per card played), then I duplicated it with a spectral card. Then I lucked out and got the blueprint joker so I essentially had 3 ancient jokers.

So when I played my flushes, using the appropriate suit, I was receiving 15 lots of x1.5 to my multiplier.

Been trying to win orange stake for days and just had, what I thought was, a guaranteed win only for the final bind to utterly castrate me. I swear the RNG just decides to strawberry float you on purpose

OK so yesterday I learnt that this Joker (and many others that alternate which suit / card they reward) adjusts its target suit based on what's in your deck so it's never useless. Not only that, but it's great for the chequered deck!

I think I had a potentially winning run on that might have gotten me that high score - Ancient Joker, Blueprint, Mime, a bunch of Steel Cards, Chequered Deck. Only problem: I had forgotten that I'd opened a Spectral pack on Ante 1 and converted a hand to... Diamonds Ancient Joker targeted Diamonds on a Boss Blind, and I drew none, meaning my high leveled Flushes were useless. I go again!

I love how this game keeps teaching you new things about its mechanics.

Yep. I replayed the run (first seeded run!) and corrected where I cocked up. Sure enough, 100m+ in one hand. But it doesn't count

Beat yellow deck on first go today. £4m hand as well. Ante 11. Happy with that. The spectral cards did not help at all though.

I like this game a lot but I feel like I’m playing it all wrong

Beat Green Deck tonight. I'm starting to commit joker rotation into my play. Works well to get money jokers early and sub them out mid-run. Helps to learn that you need a balance of chips, plus and X modifiers.

What are people's views on Spectral cards? Most of the time they mess up my builds.

If you get the right ones early enough they can basically decide your whole game for you, later things like the red seal are essential for big scoring

If you get a good joker early on and duplicate it with a lucky spectral card, there's nothing better.

Orange and Gold stakes are so much easier now, since the update. I was finding it impossible to win on orange stake because it was so hard to get momentum going with the steep increase in cost of card packs. But now the packs don't change in price and instead some jokers only last a number of rounds. Much more manageable.

Beat an orange stake very quickly this morning so I'm sure I'll get my first gold win tomorrow.
