Absolutely. When I finished Act 2, I was really surprised not to see the credits rolling. Any other dev would've finished it there and expected us to buy a sequel!

Huge!

It’s the density and meaningful nature that impresses me. They havent fallen into the Ubisoft trap of “200sq mile” map. Every part of the map is carefully crafted and has a purpose, secret or interesting feature. Smaller focused games are miles better than big and empty. I read a quite about starfield being “thousand miles wide and 1 inch deep”. Whereas BG3 has got the perfect balance of size and depth. Love it.

Big patch is out. Just downloaded on PS5. 8 gig patch.

Just tried it to see if it lets me play the game..... after the online/save big made me stop.... it works again. :datass:

Not had a proper walk around act 3 to see if it runs better. Will do that tomorrow.

Wish my image sig would work

I'm curious, are there abilities for other classes that scale really poorly?

I find most spells are still useful in some situations regardless of level. But some of the wild forms just seem really bad at high levels.

I really cannot see a reason to use the Badger or Wolf once you unlock the Owlbear for example. It's just better in almost every way. Even when I was low level I couldn't see a reason to use the badger, why take the chance with its burrow when the wolf just grantees more straight up damage. But now the badger is just absolutely worthless. Probably the worst wild form in the game.

Casting haste on yourself and then getting buffed by Shadowheart just allows you to go on a rampage with the Owl bear

The fact the flight thing moves you, damages in an aoe and still allows you to attack afterwards is insane.

Owlbear is definitely king of combat but could badger maybe be used for exploration? Small holes and the like.

Owlbear was amazing early on when people found out the damage done by jump/falling attacks was based on weight/height

People were creating crate towers to get 1k+ damage

Does it leave a permanent hole then that party members can go through ? I guess that could be useful in some niche circumstances.

I just find it odd that the badger's burrow does zero damage, you risk everything on them going prone or you're strawberry floated. With Owlbear you get the damage and prone chance, it's odd.

There are various small holes throughout the map that only small creatures can pass through. Turning into badger might let you get through them. Not sure about making new ones

I'm now stuck with a bug.
I can't place the orbs in the alter after the Trials of Shar.

Can you not reload an earlier save and play back up to that point?

I finally got it to work after a while.
It was really frustrating.

There's no way I can avoid killing everyone in The Inn of the Last Light area now as they're all kind of undead and attack me on sight :shifty: .

Erm, oh dear.

 Ah... oh dear...

Well, if you want to know what's going on:

The "bubble" around Last Light goes away as soon as Nightsong dies. It didn't happen in my game but I think it's basically like, Isobel's power partially comes from Nightsong, and/or she's so distressed by her death that she can't go on casting the spell.

According to a guide I found, you should have got a cutscene showing that happening, but maybe it didn't play...?

I hear that Shadowheart has a few quite interesting scenes in her Dark Justiciar route though, which I assume most people (having saved Nightsong) won't get to see, so at least that's a silver lining!

Won’t spoil anything but there is a good quest in act 3 that focuses on the dark J’s and shadowheart if she went down that route.
