I was thinking about starting a similar thread, good to see its been done. Hopefully it works out.
I could contribute guitar/drums/ any instrument that has been sampled.

I could contribute some electric guitar leads.

I can sing, if you don't mind a slightly girly voice.

I can provide a bassline.

I've played piano since I was 8 or 9.. I'm now 17. So I'm in
Oh and i also play guitar to a half decent level.

Interesting stuff.

Any suggestions on how you'd like us to start? What style of music? Start with beat or chords? Etc....

I don't mind putting it all together.

We need a tune to start us off. Maybe a guitar riff or piano/keyboard tune.

I think the "Do They Know It's Christmas?" idea is the best one. We could all sing a part each. As for instruments, I could play bass, with some basic keyboard or drum loops a possibility too.

Yeah, but Do They Know It's Christmas is a bit of a rubbish song sadly. How about we do Perfect Day, in the style the BBC did for a promo a few years ago where they got loads of singers to pop up and sing a line each? I still fondly recall the old bloke from Burning Spear popping up to sing 'Oh such a perfect day' in a reggae style. We could do that.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

this is an idea i came up with after a million shitty ideas. its mainly for a free composition area of my course i need to complete, im planning to turn this idea into a 3 minute song, with no vocals. feel free to play around with it or you could give me feedback for further ideas ?

The best way to do this would probably to start off with a chord progression, anyone got any unique/good yins'?

Could someone come up with a sequence and export it is a midi file? Just one verse/chorus would be good for now.

well it needs to be decided if it's a major/minor song .. what style etc.

I could work all this out, but it would take time, etc. Sound quite good, though.
