I'm making a little display of my racing games in my pc room, and ridge racer features heavily.

Woah! Does it bring back memories like it's 1995? Let's go.

Ridge Racer is one of the best racing series of all time. So sad it's dead now

I used to live in Ealing. It isn't exactly a high footfall area of London, but it might be able to sustain a small cafe-cum-arcade.

Went in to the Brighton store earlier. Apart from a load of Gashapon machines, the only other things they had were two Air Hockey tables, two Basketball machines, a Dance machine and a Claw Grabber machine. Also looks like it's a minimum £10 spend to get some tokens. Pretty disappointing and won't be going back. I would be surprised if it's still there by the end of the year.

I saw some other people mentioned this in the reviews and you can buy specific amounts of tokens from the counter, yes that means talking to a person but the machines like the pier or anywhere else dispensed fixed amounts.

Thinking about going for some beetles or lizards or some other things just to try it out. But I wouldn't bother with anything that's weapons/accessories for a main figure you'll likely never get (to be honest again the reviews are kind of stupid for complaining about something that is obviously the case if you study the machine itself or ask staff any questions).

Bearing in mind there were some 20-30 different varieties at a guess of different things that aren't all "collect 'em all". Just walk away if plastic tat isn't your thing.

You can buy pre-collected gashapon on eBay or from independent stores all over the place (including in Japan) if you want specific things so I don't 100% get the complaints about a game of chance. Like walking into a casino and saying you didn't win specifically a £5 note when spending five £1 coins. For free dopamine hits that never end and make you miserable, scroll Instagram or whatever. :shifty:
