VOTE FOR THREE

Banjo’s Imperial Challenge

It was open choise this week, each competitor was to build a replica in Nuts & Bolts as long as it was of an Imperial vehicle from the Star Wars universe, fun times!

Image

As with before, peruse the entries and then vote for the three you think most accurately replicate their intended vehicle.

That's right, VOTE FOR THREE.

Image
Tired of being ignored and now in control of weapons of mass destruction, Banjo has lost it slightly.

And the appropriate music.

So yes, click on the poll and we'll see you next Thursday for another Replica challenge! Thanks to everyone who took part.

If anyone who took part feels that my pictures do not do your creation justice, feel free to take your own and pm me the link, I'll happily add it to your pictures.

Couple of extra snaps.

Roon redeems himself.

The construction in this game really is gooseberry fool. All it seems to be is combing a few different boxes. We could have been doing this competition for years in Gmod, and it would have been 10 times better. 8-)

Those all look fantastic, not sure who I'm voting for yet!

Edit: can the AT-AT and the AT-ST actually walk?

I was so happy when I got the wings to fold down on mine.

I voted for Roon, T9 and myself.

The AT-ST can, The AT-AT has wheels :P

It's not gooseberry fool, but it is limited, and it's the limited LEGO-like nature of it that makes these replica creations so fun as they can be done in ten minutes or a labour of love over a few hours with only the skills to place bricks next to each other.

I don't know about Roon's, but my At-ST definitely does. Even if it does have a tendency to fall over.

A really strong week this week, I'm going to have trouble picking my favourites...

This is actually quite a hard choice as they're all really good.

Even with Luke Banjwalker swinging below my AT-AT with his lightsabre, I'm lost in the crowd. I thought that'd be a winner but the quality is well too high.

Mine uses wheels to move. I have no idea how you'd even make a "walker" vehicle. Getting something to just stand with towbar legs is a nightmare. Getting the thing the move would cause me to top myself.

Roon, what're you complaining about, you're winning. Also you don't want to know how long it took me to get the wings to detatch correctly and stay in place while sat still, god the amount of rage that came out of my mouth.

I was just suprised that everyone chose something different to do. I thought everyone was going to do Tie Fighters or AT-ATs

I spent ages trying to get mine to walk. There are two joints made of tow bars in each leg, and I've put jets and small propellors in the feet (each facing the opposite direction to their counterpart) to allow the legs to be controlled independently. Then there's the small propellor and balloons hidden in the head to keep it upright. Oh, and obviously you have to make sure none of the six seperate parts are connected in any way other than the tow bars, otherwise it wouldn't work.

Roonmastor, StayDead and Dala for me - perhaps the most authentic ones. JK's AT-ST is an admirable construction, but its legs are just too chunky to closely resemble the real thing. Maybe if I saw it in motion I'd think differently.

They're all very good, though.
