Bargain Alerts: What Are You Buying?

Image
Monkey Island is the gooseberry fool

Only a few rules:

This is a thread for alerting other people to games-related bargains, so they can take advantage of them. Please don't post a boastful message about some great deal you've got if nobody else will be able to get the same deal.

If linking to a second-hand bargain, please make this clear in your post. Plenty of us have no interest in buying used goods.

Don't descend into non-bargain discussion or spam. The thread should ideally be post after post of pure bargains.

I'll occasionally update the thread title if any mega-killer bargains come along that everyone needs to know about. If you spot a stunning bargain that you think might disappear or go out of stock quickly, please PM me. I can't browse the forum regularly while at work, but if I get a PM notification email, I'll know to pop in and update the thread.

If there are any ongoing deals, as opposed to short-term offers, let me know and I'll add them to the post below this one.

Cheap MS Points / Xbox Live subs codes by email:

(Note: Check Amazon first. They've had better prices than these online code retailers lately.)

http://www.cardscodes.com

http://www.xboxliveuk76.com (RetroEd and black stig both reported that it was reliable - April '09)

http://www.live-codes.com (nobody here has given feedback about this site yet)

http://cheapxboxlivecodes.com (used successfully by andythevillan in November 2009, and rated "strawberry floating awesome" by MHTL. Also has positive feedback from RetroEd, Alpha eX and CuriousOyster.)

http://www.jasper1675.com (reliable - used by many GR members. Even Alpha eX.)
Update: only selling to old customers now. Something to do with PayPal chargebacks/scammers, and Jasper having a poorly tummy.

Useful links:

Bargain-finding sites:
Gamestracker.com
SavyGamer
Find-Games
HotUKDeals
Billy Bargain

Thanks to everyone who contributed to these codes and links

Quidco!

The eternal question: what is Quidco?
It's a cashback scheme for online purchases, that nets you hard cash in addition to any loyalty/reward points.

Sign up to Quidco here.

Once you've registered, log into your account before ordering anything online and click the link on their site to the site you want to order from (note: not all sites are on quidco, but it's good to check before hand, just in case it is there). After clicking the quidco link to the site you want to order from, complete the transaction as usual.

Money you've earnt can be tracked on your quidco profile and can be withdrawn from there as well. The amount of cashback you earn varies from site to site, but can range from a percentage of your shopping back to lump sums for ordering specific things, for example £35 for taking out a pay monthly contract with O2 (correct at time of writing).

You can withdraw your money by PayPal or BACS (PayPal up to £50 at a time). To withdraw your money you need to set up a minimum payout that is paid out to you each month, providing you have received enough for this to be paid (this includes ordering, having cashback tracked, validated and received into your account). Once this is done your money will automatically be paid out to you in the method you require, each month, providing there's enough money to do so.

Once you have specified a payment method, the minimum payout will be £0.00 meaning you will be paid every month, regardless of how much. I recommend leaving your money to build up to pay minimal PayPal fees (I have yet to take any money out of quidco, at time of writing). The only charge for using quidco is a £5 annual admin fee. However, this is taken out of the first £5 you earn through quidco, so you don't need to pay anything to quidco at all, and if you don't earn anything in a year from quidco, you don't pay anything.

Thanks to Dark Dragon 64

Nights is going for a tenner at the min in GAME. Haven't played it but it'd bound to be worth a tenner! Would've picked it up myself but got GTA instead.

So did I. "Partially used" should never be in the same sentence as "bargain". Except in the sentence I just wrote.

Nearest Comet to me is 15 miles away. Not worth the trip, considering they might not even have one in stock. Great price, though.
