Finally caught up to speed with episodes 2-4. Despite Telltale's woeful engine and some occasionally ropey dialogue, I'm really loving it. They make great use of the source material, particularly in some of the choices you make. I love how much focus is put on the Bruce Wayne side of the character, something games have never been able to explore before. As much as I wish Telltale would improve in certain area, they've still got some Walking Dead S1 magic in 'em :)

Hexx wrote:Good - eps 2 and 3 have been great, 1 and 4 ok

I'd agree with this, would go 2>>3>4>>1. Episode 1 always seems to be the weakest in these kinds of games though.

As for performance, on PC it's gotten better with every episode, though still not where I'd like it to be. The game also doesn't seem to downsample when selecting higher resolutions, grr.

Weirdly, eps 1-2 would plummet in frame rate every time a screen was shown in the environment (batcomputer/background TV etc), but it seems to have been fixed in 3-4.

Sounds like PC might be the way to go then, probably because it can brute force the Telltale engine to a workable state better.
What's the cheapest place for this on PC at the moment?

I thought I read (when episode 1 came out) that the Xbone version was best? Must be wrong, or it was better than PS4.

I enjoyed the series on the whole. Not top-tier Telltale but solid nonetheless. Above all, an interesting take on Batman. It's great that they appear to have gotten they production pipeline in order with how regularly the episodes released.

Choices

Told Selina to strawberry float off.

Took my mask off.

Went to the public address as Batman.

Only a couple of bugs in this (one of the Arkham inmates was only a pair of eyes and mouth, and one or two SFX didn't play) and performance was much smoother (important due to some of the "big" fights...

A good end to an interesting season - a couple of narrative shortcuts were a bit quick, but overall pretty effective. Good use of source material to tell their own tale - fundmentally changing some bits of Bat-lore

Tried to talk down Harvey, then pocketed the coin

Consoled Alfred

Told Selina there are more to her, and hugged. I've never really romanced her throughout (not cheating with her while she's "with" Harvey) and I think the friend/respect/attraction storyline worked well. Deep love etc would have been too much.

Revealed myself. Was a little annoyed how quickly Vicki brushed it aside - felt a bit "Telltale"ish in the both choices need to have largely the same outcome

Went to the confrence as Bruce - the city needed changing, Batman couldn't have done that. Invested in the police.

Bought the season pass in the sale and just done the first two episodes. I'm enjoying it quite a bit to my surprise after the mediocre reviews. Trying to play as a tough but fair Batman who's not going to mutilate criminals when he doesn't have to.

Episode 1 choices:
- Gave Vicki a quote. Bruce needs a backup if he can't get with Selina.
- Found it impossible not to use the "Gotham needs a new face" line. Used it whenever I could across both eps.
- Shook Carmine's hand and was polite but not warm. Kept Harvey out of the meeting to protect his image.
- Didn't break the sniper's arm like a psychopath.
-Gave the data to Gordon obvs. Didn't chat with him at the warehouse though- Ghost Batman yeah.
-Absolutely did not impale Carmine on a rebar. Christ. That's some Zach Snyder tier writing.

Episode 2 choices:

-Attacked Falcone in the hospital.
-Didn't kiss Selina. I couldn't remember at the time if Harvey was dating her and I'm trying to keep Harvey happy and one-faced.
-Visited Hill as Bruce.
-Kept funding Harvey. I mean why wouldn't you?
- Saved Harvey. Selina is capable enough of looking after herself and Harvey needs to stay away from all face-related damage.

Episode 3. Alfred is saying I told Vicki Vale that Montoya shot Falcone, which I most definitely did not do.

Well done Telltale. :simper:

Yeah I got that as well which kind of threw me, seeing as how I was all "No comment" at that part.

About that....

Episode 3 choices:

Image

-Slept with Selina obviously. :datass: 90% of players know the score.
- Didn't beat up Harvey though. I'm not a complete bastard.
- Didn't steal anything from Selina's house.
- Didn't punch Penguin either and kept to the script at the press conference.
- Helped Montoya.
- Told Lucius to quit but that was less of a choice and more me not paying attention to the game.

Episode 4:

Yeah I knew they wouldn't be able to stop themselves putting Joker in this. At least they managed to do something different with him. With one episode left, I'm somewhat surprised the Court of Owls haven't even been mentioned. Those two Waynecorp board members made a "birds of a feather" reference way back in episode 1 which I was sure was foreshadowing. And then in episode 2 ,Oswald's bird mask looked far more like a Court of Owls mask than anything I'd expect the Penguin to wear.

Choices
-Didn't promise Joker a favour but did follow his plan and got Gordon to release me. Didn't try his key on any locked doors.
-Bribed the cops. I'm a billionaire.
-After sleeping with Selina, assumed Harvey would not want to see me. Spoke to him as Batman.
-Went to beat up Penguin which seemed the more immediate threat.

Episode 3 is probably the one where I encountered the most in the way of technical issues, the others were generally ok, apart form a few sudden stop/starts during scene transitions.

Episode 5 complete.

Was it ever explained where Vicky got her equipment from and who trained her to fight?

Choices:

-Threw away Harvey's coin.
- Told Alfred it wasn't his fault.
-Made nice with Selina and kissed her goodbye but didn't confess love. Having played through the whole game in a week I've found it amusing how overwhelmingly one-sided every Selina choice has been. 90% of players are big Bruce/Selina shippers apparently.
-Took off my mask to try and protect Alfred.
-Went to the press conference as Bruce (Batman can't be an urban myth if he's on live TV) and said I'd fund Arkham.

Steam says it took me 7 hours to complete the whole season which must make it one of the shortest Telltale games yet. Good thing I bought it in a sale.

Just finished this and really enjoyed it. Not much game there though, mainly just move a cursor to a circle and press x.

Just finished first episode but I have to say it's buggy messy isn't it? When it showed my choices it seem kind of froze but not really, I'd close down the game then reboot, go and view my choices and they just won't load.

Also for strawberry floating sake, there's sections where there's no subtitles at all - mainly news reporting scenes ._.
