Well that was really good - properly telling it's own story and really twists expectations.

Some horrid performance issues on PS4 again, but this might be edging out TWAU as my favourite Telltale

Help Montoya, she seemed in the most danger and Harvey was on the way to police safety
Punched Oswald. I'd played along until then, but screw you
Kept Lucius in WayneTower
Stay Platonic with Selina - wasn't screwing over a chum
Didn't steal claw, took back grapple
Tried to talk harvy Down
Played along with what's best for the company but also tried to warn about the Children of Arkham

The performance of the game is really bad only through the "what happened previously on" as it's
struggling to use the right scenes based on my previous choices. After that it's pretty smooth

It was far more stable for me this time. Episode 2 crashed 4 times on me but this didn't do that once.

Just the usual frame-rate drops whenever he uses the fancy holographic display table thing in the batcave.

But a good episode all round. Loved the twist at the end. Totally unexpected.

Tried out Episode 1 of this (it's free to try on PC) the controller commands are a broken mess, that aside everything else ran fine. Is the resolution still borked on consoles?

I didn't notices any Resolution problems whenever I played (bad at spotting things like that though) still has frame rate issues though at points up to Ep 3

And done :)

Bit of an odd episode - all building, but felt like there needed to be a few more scenes at the end to really set up a finale.

Bit of rushed escalation it felt like throughout - needed either more time/content to play it out, or at least make clearer the passage of time (given it seems to have been like 2 days in game going to martial law feels off)

Pretty good though - but just missed a cliff hanger set up (or similar) - the ending is really abrupt and not in a "tense way" more in a "wait, it's over?" way.

Engine only really struggled at one point (in a lift :D) - which then led to a loading screen killing momentum at a key moment. That's poor

Also had some sound issues during combat - it's hard to feel invested in the fight when it feels so weightless due to lack of impact sounds

Plot talk and choices!

Shame they went with Joker in there - although nice he's a "John Doe". Interesting and different portayal as well. Player knowledge though will guide most people actions around him rather than his own actions in the game which is a shame. Generally engaged with him, but on my terms. Didn't use the Key. Didn't agree favours and tried to break up the fight.

In the end Joker's inclusion seemed to slow everything down. He had little baring on the various conflicts and characters I've spent 3 episodes getting involved in - depsite being "in the know" - and spending time developing him just delayed me from being able to be involved in the story I was invested in. It's a really odd pacing killing opening act.

Rammed the barricade.

Told Selina I understood and let her go

Was nice to the kid and calm (half expecting him to be Robin). That crime scene was brutal though.

Went to Harvey as Batman (Trying to cash in the good will he had from saving his face). Didn't overly work though but stayed firm and "good" throughout.

Told Jim he was trusted, to try and pull the good bits of GCPD together and undermine Dent's militia.

Went after Penguin - tech is more important. Him breaking down and limiting my ability, plus enchancing his own is far more of a threat than to my house...plus Alfred can just hide in the cave. Plus the manor's burnt down or been blow up countless times in comics/films...it'll be fine

No "next time" bit...

So the general consensus this is good, yeah? I see the season pass is £15.99 which is tempting.

Good, annoyingly close to great.

It's the freshest Batman tale in years - that takes familiar elements and remixes them in genuinely new and interesting ways. It's also a good story about both Bruce Wayne and Batman - and the real person their both masks for.

It's still a TellTale game - with the limited gameplay and quirks that means, although it does some differen newer bits it's all really QTE and very simple puzzle solving - but if you're at all into Batman stories yeah get it.

Then we can talk about it

Edit - Just realised you made the bloody thread :slol: And you didn't buy it? Also (there's only one episode left) they've stuck to a monthly release schedule - which won't really matter for you - but it's kept up story momentum as a result.

I got excited by the announcement :slol:

I just knew the season pass would drop eventually and prefer playing this over a few days instead of months. My patience has paid off 8-)

Your tight-fisted money pinching ways.

I've been enjoying it for months.

So what's the general consensus on this then?
Is it good? How the performance? Better on PC? PS4? PS4 Pro? Xbox One?

Good - eps 2 and 3 have been great, 1 and 4 ok

Some performance issues on PS4 - not sure if others are better.

It's a TellTale game through and through. You'll enjoy this as much as you've enjoyed their other games. Or slightly more or less depending on how much you like Batman.

Tomorrow on EU
Wtf

The release schedule on this on PSN has been ridiculous. Sometimes as advertised others a day or two later
