I'd really like to get this but the ending of GotG left me so disappointed and I've not really felt gripped by a Telltale game for a while. I did enjoy Batman season 1.

It'll be free on plus at some point so I'm happy to wait.

£11.99, that's actually very tempting. Especially as I have £12 in my Paypal account. But I will likely wait for the PC version to drop in price instead.

Episode 4

This just gets better and better and love subverting Batman fans expectations.

I've Youtubed the start and end as they seem to be able to go lots of different ways based on choices (even if the story ultimately follows the same beats)

I need episode 5 The Joker knows I'm Batman and is off on a crusade for "Justice"

Bruce escaped and followed the bloodbath at Sanctus. Let Catwoman stay to help. "Won" the fight.
Played firm, but overly aggressive with Waller.
Told Freeze I'd chill the room and then followed through.
Was friendly/cordial with Avasta - but still pointed out she doubts Waller, but shared my identity.
John - firm but friendly through. Still trying to play the good guy and help him through, even as he gets more unhinged. Felt a little constrained by arbitrary dialogue choices. Let him go alone though.
Was supportive to Alfred, but said he should see a doc.
Was open with Tiffany, but explained no guns and I'd can't start down that path.
Told Avasta to follow instincts, but be careful.
John - annoyed here as there seemed to be a trust or call him a liar option. Few "in between/you're not telling whole truth" sides. Still supported, but reproachfully. Cautious around him without being hostile.
Decided to take him with me to the Bridge.
Tried to talk Harley down, defend John's involvement to Waller, then let him speak to Harley.
Continued to defend John as Waller got restless (then he saved the day!)
But then Waller went mental on him - blocked the shot she took at John...engaged the agents as needed.
Told John to stop rather than block the shot an agent had - and he shanked Waller!
Then he dropped off the bridge - ranting about how the agency aren't Just...and that he and Batman will bring Justice...ending screens say I've turned him into a Vigilante!

(Says Season Trailer, but clips from throughout that spoil a fair bit!)
Episode 5 is out on the 27th.

Very strong ending that makes up for some mediocre middle chapters

Defended John throughout, and tried to keep steering him to the right path.

Saved the Joker's gang from the Agency and tried to talk them down. They went all out and then released BANE on me! Chose to save the Joker guy (didn't know much about him) versus the Agency Thug (who was driving Bane and who's sadism got himself killed)

Offered Avesta a job - and defended her to Waller. Ended up in a begrudging stalemate with Waller on the Roof. Didn't respond to her trade of Joker for Selina (Selina interactions were good though.)

Defended Waller from Joker, tried to talk him down - and took on the Pact. With the bombs tried to stop them both.

Didn't let Tiffany come with me - far too dangerous

Was warm and respectful to Gordon. When Harley turned up (god damn Agency) I tried to reason and say we could go after John together. Then when she attacked beat her up and taunted her about her lack of real power.

At the confrontation kept trying to reason with Joker and get him to understand the rules. Didn't work. Tiffany's reveal as Riddler's murderer could have used a few more hints, as could the fact that no one's really worried who killed him until now.

Said I get John help when he was corned. Oops. Brutally murderers everyone and snaps.
Took him down (The ongoing damage to Batman/Joker was brutal)...but still admitted at times we were really friends. (He calls me pretty messed up as a result).

Tiffany Tiffany. Kinda of felt bad for her as she recounted the damage to her family. But then remembered Riddler was caught and not a threat when she shot him. And then she said she did it so she'd feel in control. Told her she needed to face the music and she fled.

And then Alfred. Chuffin Alfred. I hated this scene when it first happened - Alfred's always been the rock behind Bruce - but then recognised that Telltale are happy to shake up Bat-quo and I should consider it on it's own merits. Glad I got to call out Alfred on his "you encouraged it stance". Refused to give up Batman for him.

I watched the Villain version on youtube - other than last 2 scenes it's pretty much entirely different. Well done TellTale. The Villain Joker was great, but I felt the Vigilante Version was narratively stronger (although that might just be due to my choices/feelings to date) and Batman goes right through the grinder.

Glad that this is getting more exposure as S2 is great.

That "noir mode" though :dread:

Edit - At some point someone's going to talk to me about Telltale's Batman :(

Season one is going on XBox's Games with Gold in January, but apparently the noir update has borked all the achievements.

Big ol’ bump but I started playing this last night on Switch (Season One, went with classic mode rather than the noir look) it’s been good so far, the story is interesting and I like the detective section in the warehouse (only on Episode one atm) looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here
