The Pirates were:

MCN
Albear (Pirate Assassin)
El Establo Santo
Rog
Ario

The Pirate Captain was Dangerbells/Blade.

Albear was the one who shot StayingDead.

I had always planned to promote one of the pirates to a pirate assassin at some point in time (was going to dress it up that they found the gun which Lewis had), but I brought it forward as a form of punishment for the (quite constant) after-death posts.

All the special roles were: the pirates/Pirate Captain/Pirate Assassin, 2 Civilian assassins (both with 2 bullets each), 2 spies, a detective and a ninja guard.

I'm disappointed that so many of players with major roles were killed so soon. With the system I had put in place (people selecting different areas of the ship when using their powers) I thought it could have lead to some exciting times.

Hmmm. Well, now that Goat has confirmed that the humans have given up (I don't really blame the loss of interest in this, as it was a strawberry floating awful performance ) I guess I can get some stuff off my chest.

FatDaz posting that he found a Pirate after dying nearly ruined this. Ario (whom he seers) ends up in the brig because of it. Not only was that crucial information given out in the thread when it shouldn't have been, but it caused Rog to quit. Then Mori posts something I didn't see that apparantly named three of us. Lucky guess or what, I don't know. This made Albear tell Goat he was quitting too, but luckily I changed his mind. Lewis also posting "I WANT TO KILL DANGERBELLS!" was also rulebreaking.

With MCN (strawberry float you MCN) doing strawberry float all for the whole game, including blatently ignoring my PMs asking him why he wasn't playing, and Ario and El Diablo not posting much, it was basically just me, Albear and Rog doing all this, until Rog quit, then it was just me and Albear.

Yet somehow, despite all of this, before the Christmas break, we'd managed to kill 5/6 of your special roles, and you had killed 0/6 of us. Rog doesn't count as he quit, and yes, OTN was going to shoot him, but because of FatDaz's cheating death post.
SleighingSled wrote:Inactives have ruined it and the pirates didn't even bother killing inactives to start.

Bullshit.

Day One kills
DML (posted once)
Denster (posted nothing depite being online to do so)

Day Two kills
puppetBoy (posted a bit but wasn't a big active)
Corozon (posted a bit but wasn't a big active)

Day Three kills
Oh Teh Noes (the first active we killed)
Banjoy To The World (posted a bit but wasn't a big active)

1/6 isn't us killing actives at all.

Albear was the Pirate Assassin, a role that was given to him on the last day. Before anyone says "Pirate Assassin WTF not fair" that role was given to us as punishment for FatDaz, Lewis' and Mori's posthumus posts. We didn't ask for it.

Another shame is that my near-foolproof masterplan involving sacrificing MCN (strawberry float you MCN) and having my trust confirmed can no longer come to pass. We would have played Drumstick like a fiddle.

So basically, the Civilians ruined it for themselves and the Pirates by unfair means and inactivity. Anyone with any beef about this game needs to look at the inactive Civilians, FatDaz, Memento Mori and LewisD - not the Pirates...except MCN (strawberry float you MCN).

Unfortunately that trick has been played before in previous games, indeed by my own team nonetheless so it wouldn't have got you too far.

Ah, but I had an assassin on my side, which hasn't happened before.

Anyway, I look forwards to AYAW 4.

It should be good as long as people don't spoil the game by posting their roles and there's a strict rule on death posts. One post no matter how meaningless should result in an instant civilian death.

Fixed.

Interestingly, at one point or another I was calling for everyone of you with the sole exception of Albear to be put in jail. In fact I must have jailed three of you at least yet you kept getting away! :x

Yeah my "cheating" death post really swung the game for us Civilians without it we never would have won .... oh right :fp:

Ok I shouldnt have disclosed that I found a pirate but I never named him until today.

Think instant civilian death is a bit drastic as that would randomly take someone innocent out of the game. I'd rather have something like an extra kill for the wolves, no lynching for the next day or no seering that night.

Rog quit because of what you did and Ario was put in the brig because people figured that you seer'd him due to your and his posts. Its was cheating, end of.

It was cheating because they then went back to what you said you were looking for. You even quoted a statement yourself of what you were looking for to push them in the direction of Santario. I'm sure if I looked back there'd be more.

No it needs to be a harsh punishment so then nobody will do it. A soft punishment won't stop them.

How about a straight up ban from future games? Seems decent to me.

Surely future wolves would rather choose who gets killed rather than do it randomly, it'd benefit them and hurt the villagers. In a way, it's an even harsher punishment.

Fair enough I suppose. I still think the game is far too inbalanced in favour of wolves, especially with wolf vigilantes! If new roles are added people should be aware they exist, after all it affects strategy.

I also agree about death posts despite being the worst offender, punishment would prevent this. However inactive players kill the atmosphere of the game very quickly and the thread turns to a graveyard.

With a little fine tuning this could be awesome and epic.

Like I said the Wolf Assassin wasn't planned to be introduced so soon.

Plus the civilians had many special roles: 2 assassins, 2 spies, a detective and a ninja guard (like a herbalist, but with the power to kill).

I didn't like the wolf vigilante idea and I made that clear to Goat at the time. Stayingdead shouldn't have been killed that night. It is balanced but only if the roles are utilised and inactives are kept to a minimum. If you can get people to post often then sooner or later they'll make a mistake.

The thread being quiet isn't a reason to cheat. When you first cheated the game was rather active. Inactives do suck but when actives are revealing their roles in the thread that leads to them getting killed.

Banning is a little too harsh as games are few and far between. Someone could change their ways in that time. But if it's made clear that a death WILL happen with every death post then it clears up any confusion on either side. Having the wolves pick who they kill would be too much.

No it isn't. If you really want to ensure dead people don't mess around and potentially ruin games then that's the way to go about it.
