This was only my 2nd AYAW but can anyone tell me if a vigilante has ever bagged a wolf? it seems to me the role is a handicap rather than a help.

I don't believe so, and this isn't an AYAW, really.

- There was no vigilante in the original AYAW.
- I didn't play in AYAW II as I was in the process of moving and had no internet, so I can't confirm anything.
- Mockmaster was the vigilante in AYAW III. He killed two innocents on like the opening night.
- Genuinely can't remember who was the vigilante AYAW IV.
- AYAW V had two; Denster and Poncho. Neither bagged a wolf.

Denster killed the witch doctor, Poncho killed Stu a human.

Thats exactly the problem with vigilantes, they shoot off too soon, before they can possibly have any evidence. Often based on hunches and suspicion alone. Its almost as though they have to use the power at the first opportunity. Ok sometimes they need to use it soon, but a guessed killing is worse than not killing anyone. If i run one of these games, Vigilantes will have to wait a period before killing.

Jango was the vigilante in AYAW2 (when the Wolves had their best ever performance). Anyway Jango set the legendary template for crap Vigilantes. If I recall, he ended up not using his 2 bullets at all

Yes, I killed JohnnyK the second night.

My theory at the time was that aaron was a wolf. And that Johnny was also a wolf.

I won't go into how I came to these conclusions, that's not important anymore. As it turns out I was a bit wide of the mark. Luckily, I made up for my terrible shiteness somewhat by volunteering for the infamous Seance of Doom later on. I also bagged a wolf as mayor, and helped lead the witch-hunt that finally led to Herbi being unmasked as the Alpha wolf.

In retrospect I was far too eager to use my powers, for fear that I would be mauled before I had the chance. Having said all that, it made the experience much more memorable. You can't buy memories like that. And AYAW3 was full of great memories for me and I'm sure many others. Probably not for aaron and Johnny though.

True dat. I remember the night Herbi went up against Hexx, everyone was fairly certain that least one of them was a wolf and it ended up being a tie. Epic times. Of course they were both completely innocent.

Every human wants to win the game and the "special" humans have the ability to make a real difference, and it's almost impossible to fight the temptation to take the game into your own hands.
