Can anyone recommend the best class and/or tactics to use for a new player levelling up and playing against mostly level 80+? I've just picked up BF4 with Premium for £24 on PC after putting a few hours into the free trial. Played the game a bit on PS4 at release so I'm familiar with it but quickly got tired of using the controller.

One thing that strikes me is the difficulty in finding good servers on the PC version - I end up sat in the battlelog for aaages and only really get into any decent games in Conquest but probably prefer rush/domination modes for shorter games. Coming from CS:GO it's a lot different in that respect.

I had a quick look online (PC version) at the new maps. Yeah, nice an 'all, but the servers were very quiet. As far as I can see the PS4 version is always a lot busier and a lot more populated than the PC game. Also, I prefer the PS4 controller for this. If you set the sensitivity high enough it won't feel slow and because everyone else (PS4 version) is also on a controller you're not particularly disadvantaged (unless, like me, you're just a terrible player).

To level up quickly why not load up with medical supplies, run into a map like Operation Locker or Operation Metro, run to choke points, stand behind the front line and just keep doling out supplies (you can also do this with ammo) - you'll quickly win ribbons and ribbons mean XP. If you have any XP multipliers use them prior to deployment and level up even quicker.

I presumed I X1 would have downloaded the patch for this itself yesterday but I patches need to be up several hours before it did so, so I had to download the 3gig when I booted up which took nearly an hour! :x

The maps took and additional hour so I dont know what size they where as X1 downloaded them at 5times the speed of the patch. They all on though and ill check em out tonight.

So, these maps are the best of the game overall. I have a soft spot for snow in games but not only does it have snow but the ice makes vehicles slidey and in some places you can break the ice so it has water about. The map design is stunning. Special mentions to the one with the hanger at top of mountain, the whole map is fought on a steep slope and then when get to top you have a giant indoor arena. The white out one when the blizzard gets going is lush and the lens flare from the sun filtering through the snow looks amazing. The other 2 are also from the top shelf, not least the one with a capture point in middle of a bridge and another with rolling mountains of forest, some overlooking 2 capture points, these maps just feel bigger and tactical. Love them.

Swell! Got back into this the other day and it all felt fixed, finally. Look forward to playing the last set.

I've been playing Battlefield 3 since it became available for free a while ago, but am thinking of moving on. I see Battlefield 4 is on offer at the moment on Origin but just wondering what it's like on PC? Is it one where I have to pay a monthly thing? gooseberry fool servers and loads of cheats? BF3 is infested with cheats hence I want to change games.

Also, would my PC run it well? Specs are;

AMD 6350 six core processor 3.90 GHz
8.00GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7700 series

Also there are quite a few different versions. Any particular ones better?

cheers

X1 has no cheats as such so far, a couple of use owned servers that are bitches and wont allow certain guns (stinger launcher for example, then they dominate in a chopper) but I quit if thats the case and find something better.

Like BF3, BF4 has it's ups and down. Compared to launch BF4 is almost a new game, yes there are still issue but they are still being fix but the majority of the game breaking bugs and issues are gone. The gameplay is smooth with good gun feel™.

If it's cheap enough then it may be worth getting the base game, there are a few servers that still have the default rotation and if you enjoy it and the dlc is cheap it's worth getting.

I think most of the hackers went back to BF3 due to the issue with BF4

If you can run BF3 with no issues you should have little problem with BF4.

This.

Whereas CoD:AW's campaign seems alot more fun and less stuffy than BF4, the on-line stuff BF4 (with premium) blows CoD away...IMO!

I had a look on origin and it has a Premium Edition....and a Premium Edition Membership version?

There is also deluxe. Are most PC servers the Premium Edition content?

Cheers
