My review of the (actually pretty decent) Far Cry-inspired single player - http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/battlefield-ha ... sh-1492159

The single player does look like the most interesting one since Bad Company 1. I'll probably just end up borrowing the game off someone just to play that as I really can't be arsed with the multiplayer.

Battlefield Hardline - the Digital Foundry verdict

All in all, Battlefield Hardline has issues on every platform, but it's fair to say PC brings the most divisive plus and minus points. On the one hand it aces both PS4 and Xbox One with better settings - essentially by the same margin as Battlefield 4 - with scalable resolution and frame-rate options in tow. At 1080p60 and beyond the PC is still the pack leader, but given Hardline's motion judder issues on that format, it's not the premium release we had hoped for - and we hope that Visceral take a good look at the issue and fix it.

On the console front, the equation is far simpler: Xbox One excels in frame-rate metrics this time, and has a much better grip on 60fps compared to PS4. It's the most improved version of the three in its handling of the Frostbite 3 engine, and often runs above the PS4's update during stress tests. That said the 720p/900p resolution divide, where image quality favours Sony's platform, makes it an apples and pears scenario when choosing between the two.

As it stands, Visceral Games' first Battlefield title shows a firm grasp on the template cut by DICE 18 months ago, but does little to elaborate on it. The single-player mode is a mixed bag in matching Battlefield 4's brilliant set-pieces and open-ended dust-bowl segments - a game that remains a staple for our PC GPU tests. Hardline's multiplayer delivers a solid experience, but there's no escaping the verdict that its solo adventure fails to impress on any platform, an area we hope improves for the next release.

I didn't get around to playing this much last night, though what I did play I really enjoyed. I love some of the dialogue  Roll on tonight!

I forgot to cancel my pre-order with ShopTo so this came yesterday. Only managed to play a wee bit of the single player but it's actually quite good.

Uuuh not good.

Out of interest would you rate B4's MP higher?

Fired this up last night on PS4 and played to level 10 in the multiplayer. Blood Money is a great game mode.

Angry joe doesn't like this at all does he :slol:

Game looks bang average. Glad I never got it now.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Highly entertaining review. I haven't seen him take a gooseberry fool on a game like this since that biker game a while back. I was actually surprised he gave it a 5 in the end. I was expecting a 3 or something.

Not a fan of Angry Joe. But I have to say being a big Battlefield fan, I'm quite under whelmed by this. The story is becoming quite good in SP, but my God the graphics are sub par. It looks like a 360 game. And the multiplayer is a bit tepid (nowhere near as good as 4) I don't think it's a keeper, even for me. 6.5/10 (so far)

I've been playing the story the last few days & I just haven't been able to get properly invested in it. I liked the bit at the start where I was walking around Miami at night with my partner. For petty much the only time in the game I actually felt like a cop. After that, it's been dead average. Going around cuffing everyone has just felt comical to be honest. And then came the mightily predictable plot twist.

Yeah. I must admit the story has turned for the worse the more I've played. And the constant cuffing is becoming silly. This guy's got more handcuffs than a 'Fifty Shades of Gray' themed Anne Summers party!!!!

Finished this last night. It was alright. The SP story went a bit mental at the end and finished ubruptly(sp?) and I'm not too sure if I'll carry on with the MP (It's no BF4)
