Played some this weekend. Game modes dont really work and its not very exciting.

Its all well and good making objectives but the players have no interest in anything other than TDM. For the hotwire modes you need one target vehicle at a time and have that the method for counting tickets.

For the heist modes you need stopgap objectives. Take the bag to this point to have it spawn there. Now take it to the next point. The next. Etc.

I skipped BF4 but this doesnt feel any better than BF3 to me.

Soundtrack is good though and I like the unlock stuff with money and rep.

And as someone who has over 200 hours in Payday 2, this is nothing like Payday. All it shares is the idea of criminals vs cops. The game modes are nothing like Payday.

So would you say it's about time I downloaded Payday 2 from Steam and gave it a try?

I cant answer that really. I like it a lot but I play it with the same group of 3 people.

I can imagine it being pretty torturous playing with randoms.

And as I said, its nothing like this. If you are cold from this and think Payday might scratch the itch Id take a good hard look at what Payday actually is.

I don't get all the gripes with this game? I had many epic shootouts, hardwiring and fun last night with this? Like I've already mentioned, it's a day one purchase for me.

Had this on pre order for a while on PS4 for £30, even if it's gooseberry fool I'll get my money straight back. Seems quite fun on multiplayer if you are not getting too niggly about the details.

Really enjoyed the beta, so i'll probably get this on PS4. It probably helps the last time I seriously played BF was Bad Company 2 in like 2010, so I fancy another pop at the series.

Just played the first mission on this, thanks to the early access on er, EA Access. It's alright. Surprisingly slow paced given the theme, and very stealth based. Oh, and rubbish driving bits. Nothing at all like Battlefield really.

Dipped my toe in the multiplayer too, and that's exactly like Battlefield, but with a cops and robbers skin on top. Not really my thing. I definitely won't be picking this up.

Any reviews yet? Just realised I have this on pre-order and unsure whether to cancel it or not.

Been playing this via EA access on Xbox One.

The single player has an interesting enough setting, but the whole freeze/arrest mechanic could get old very quickly. There really isn't enough SP content via EA access in order to make a proper judgment.

MP is very battlefield, but it does have some interesting modes. Team Deathmatch has so many people in it that it is a spawn-shoot-die fest. You will often die from being shot in the back 2 or 3 seconds after you spawn. Having a playlist with lower player count would no doubt help.

It is a little disappointing that it has not come on graphically from BF4, which was afterall a launch game. The frame rate drops in the 64 player games and IQ still suffers as a result of a pixel-shimmer effect.

At this point I don't think I will be picking this up.

Hmm, probably too late when it comes to them dispatching it. It was £36 on Amazon when I pre-ordered last June, so even if its gooseberry fool I'll still get my money back if I sell or return it.
